Liverpool signed Torres after appearing in 2 of the previous 3 champions league finals. And they signed Suarez in 2011 when they poor. Also, nobody else of significance was in for him. And as I said about Martinez, no good teams were in for him at the time. Where did Arsenal finish in 2021/22?

Buddy picked Utd because of his dad, another picked Leeds because of his dad, I picked Liverpool because I asked who was top in the league (Dad was a rugby man), and because nobody was allowed the same, the last buddy picked Spurs, bless him. Kids are weird aged 5 ! Weirdly I can still remember where I was standing for that moment despite the age.

The main/only thing that was constantly crowed about Martinez after he joined was that he could not possibly be a good defender as he was smaller than Peter Dinklage.

Your comment was yes, plenty of articles mentioning Reals interest in him or Romero at Spurs before Martinez got injured.
Nothing like a club considering to buy a player, but ultimately deciding against it, to use as a ringing endorsement to show how great he is.

Where next for Arsenal after last night? It’s obvious they need a striker, but maybe a left winger too? I think their style of play is as big a problem, they don’t press home their advantage. They have lost 21 points from winning positions this season, and when it takes up to 90 seconds at times to take corners and free kicks, that’s no surprise. Top teams at home play in a manner that gets the crowd going, win a corner, take it, generate atmosphere and create a problem for the other team. I think Arteta will be looking at that over the summer as much as anything else.
In fairness you'd be hard pressed to find any pundit ranking top PL rb's who doesn't include Trent somewhere on the list.
