Yes! I was once on a ship SW of Britain when Concorde flew over and caused a sonic boom. I was like an explosion and rattled the hell out of the doors!
Late 90s I was heading south on a Route Nationale in the middle of nowhere when a pair of Mirages crossed over a few hundred metres ahead, low level, supersonic. They were gone then the bang and then the noise…
The Mirage 2000 is not supersonic at low-level, though - about Mach 0.90 tops.

In fact flying supersonic over land is not something that is permitted in most countries, certainly in Europe, unless in rare operational circumstances.
Yes and had I not experienced it and seen the fighters overhead, I wouldn't have believed it.
OK so it wasn't a pair of Mirages then… there was very little time to see them in fairness!
Look who I spotted overhead just now!
Who?
maiden flight is Thurs according to press. Glasgow, new York
I was looking at prices, spicy for a one off maiden flight. (I haven't yet flown on an A380) You can only book return and the dates are fixed as they are only doing 4-5 trips in the next month.
CNN article about the launch: https://edition.cnn.com/2025/05/09/travel/global-airlines-a380-superjumbos-fleet-launch
Did London Sydney with qantas on a380, amazing plane
Very interesting critique on the airline over on Reddit. Don't think I'd be buying a ticket.

Oh, must have a read. I cant see their business model working. Once they start operating their cash reserves are going to evaporate.
ET 787 BEY-DUB arrived Friday afternoon. Was that a troop return flight?
think so - https://www.thejournal.ie/unifil-homecoming-125-infantry-shane-rockett-sean-rooney-6713281-May2025/
King and Queen of Canada flying into their capital. Note the special callsign
This just rumbled overhead:

Now over France on the last leg.
They refueled in Marseille and mustn't have stopped over for a proper French lunch because they'd only be on the third course by now.
just heard it flying over south Dublin.
Welcome home Sean.
.
22hrs plus from Dubai to Dublin ? Did I calculate that right 😳
Yes that is around right, I spotted about an hour after take off last night and it was up at 18000 feet and doing 355 kph ( that's how I have my speed set on flight radar).
It is crazy on a plane like that, but of course the objectors will be screaming if they dare and buy another Lear jet.
They bought a shiny new Falcon 6X instead

AAntonov An-124-100 landing in Shannon after take off from Belfast. Missed seeing it but heard it passing, 15000ft
Just looking at Flightradar and there are currently 6 small private jets heading to Dublin from Calvi in Corsica, all privately owned; first due to land in 20 minutes, final one 2 hours or so away; seems unusual
One would wonder…
Coming in for the rugby final in Croker 😉
