Found the answer to the above - removed the “Ritzatelephoni” part. Didn’t even need to go to the chipper.
The Blackbird eating the cat's food outside.
took a chance on a 4 kilometre walk… TH it didn’t rain because it looked about 50/50 on leaving and got progressively more grey as I neared home. Had a rain jacket but still….👌
I wore my suit trousers while I wash my jeans and found €100 in them
Unintentional funny comments. Nationwide was on RTE News Channel as I was flicking through. On about a blind fella still having a go at various sports Paralympic I assume.
And what does the narrator say?
“Then he set his sights on tennis!” 🤣
The easiness of a shower in summer . Walk in no need to heat the room , no need for á dressing gown , No shivering while getting dressed . Just shower and get dressed !
Lost my sky q remote boooo. Really wanted to watch a bit of telly with dinner.
Thought to myself, I wonder if there's an app for that, and begorrah there is! Instant set up and now have a virtual remote on my phone working perfectly :)
Speaking of losing…well lost and found…I bought a bar of chocolate out earlier and it’s disappeared, not into my mouth but into the ether. I was wearing headphones on the walk back so I’m thinking it must have fallen out of my rain jacket pocket and I didn’t realise / hear it fall. Thought maybe it fell down the side of my recliner when I sat down but no such luck… but whilst looking there I did find my missing keys…So lost a 3 euro chocolate bar but saved myself about €40+ getting 3 keys cut…..TA/TH…
I'm a participant in Galaxy Zoo, a citizen science project where regular folks like me are asked to classify galaxies captured in large surveys by shape, something that's still a major headache for computer models. A lot of the galaxies photographed are extremely faint and old, as well as having a major redshift. Every now and then, you get a beautiful spiral galaxy though, and I've just gotten three in a row! Nerdy? Yes, but it still made me happy.
The neighbors cat, I was sat out the back garden feeling sad on Saturday and she just appears full of love and affection and then came to visit again today
Such a sweet cat.
We had an identical cat when my dad was actively dying at home, she sat with him on his bed for hours each day and it gave him so much peace to stroke her and know she was there.
White based torties are the BEST!
I hat the local shop dropped me in a few things I asked for on the phone. More than a TH
TH1 I was hanging out some washing at lunch time and I heard the cuckoo for the first time this year! Delighted because there was only one day last year I heard it in March, it was too early and I didn't hear it again. Glad to hear there is one back now in the better weather ☀️
TH2 Great drying out there 😂
Report from the West on RTE re Heatwave 25C. And no sign of Teresa Mannion!
They don’t send her out on the nice days?
How young kids think of asking why things are the way they are. But adults take it for granted. My brother had this question with his young fella.
“Daddy how come light goes through windows and not everything else?”
Basically asking why glass is transparent. The brother said he was stumped to explain it to him. Funnier part is my brother studied Medical Physics. One of the “mad sciences” as far as I am concerned.
So naturally as fella who wings it, I sent him a YouTube video on transparency, and an A.I explainer for kids.
But even that was not enough according to my brother. He watched two more TED talk videos with him, and had a long talk why electrons absorb energy. Myself, I ended up learning about why light goes through windows. Only because of the curious little git of a nephew. I never thought of it before.
I finally solved the ball sort game that’s I been trying for the last month
looking up getting my Dad some sunglasses for his birthday. S*nglasses Hut have gone feral for even standard pairs. €180→€220 euros for pretty basic designs. You used to be able to bag a real top of the range nice pair for €90→€120. Went to the Oakley site and they are having a killer sale, up to 50% off. So kinda a TH too as I got a pair for €70 there were €140… without having to go mental…
Haven't been able to do shopping and have feck all food in the house but was craving brownies. None in the freezer
Ended up winging it on a microwave chocolate chip mug cake sans recipe and it was delicious! Best one I've ever made
Will I be able to replicate it? Probably not.
Hey ho, did the job, craving quenched
I actually emptied my dishwasher this morning
Our pet dog giving me the side eye 👀
What’s the side eye ?
This.
David Attenborough is 99 this week
That new Australian Prime Minister is called Albanese. Then saw a very Australian solution to shorten the name, a supporter held up the name “Albo” on a card.
Texts from my crush 😀❤️
Auld fella shenanigans.
My mother tells me that my father made an appointment to see doctor about his blood pressure, likes to get it tested regularly. Doctor’s is across the road from house.
The auld fella sits down does Sudoku for over an hour, forgets about the appointment. He is late, runs across the road in a panic.
For a blood pressure test!
FINALLY found an access book that covers all the topics I need, too, affordable and from an Irish supplier. Will be landing on Thursday.
Th2 that means I'll be working on this all weekend, so a few €€€'s saved as well.
Met an old friend Friday last. Friends since school, but lost touch because she had some personal issues years ago, and she couldn't keep up contact. She is living a great life, was so good to catch up and honestly, like the last 15 years didn't exist. So happy about it 😊
While I was looking for an appointment letter that I mentioned in the TA thread, I found a promising looking envelope that didn't have the letter...but did have my passport which has been missing for four years (and still has two years left on it).
