The Wherers thread is currently borked so this is a stopgap.

The @ function is a nightmare to use, who have I forgotten?
Tableside having a drink to welcome the weekend. Let's be having ye!
Mod - Edited title slightly. All posters are welcome to post here.
Yep the drone delivery service . Very Blade Runner-esque .
Does anyone else have an issue with disappearing edit fields when writing up a reply? I wanted to add a link to the aerial delivery company mentioned in my previous reply when the whole field just disappeared.
Anyway, here’s a link to the company:
https://www.manna.aero
And here’s a news story about them coming to Cork:
https://www.rte.ie/news/business/2025/0331/1505083-manna-drone-delivery-service-to-expand-to-cork/
Thought I might as well give them a shot, given that I’m already registered as a UAV Operator with the IAA in the Open Category (A1/A3)
If I quote a post, as I've done here, and the post I'm quoting is further up the page, i.e. not at the end of the posting history, the whole page 'jumps up' and I have to scroll back down again to start typing.
I use Brave browser, set pretty aggressively to block cookies, ads, scripts etc. and I use the Boardsie enhancement suite, I don't know if either of those are relevant. But I'll put up with it to avoid ads and so on. (I use the mobile version of Brave too, for the same reasons)
Also, despite all the talk of YouTube disabling adblockers, I'm still not getting any ads at all there.
Brave, plus extensions such as uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger mean I can use the dodgy streaming websites more easily and safely as well!
I actually got it sorted in the end. Looks like Boards doesn’t like it if I try to insert a link I got using Apple’s built in Share function (as seen highlighted in the screenshot), but using CMD+C and CMD+V works just fine…
Anyway, time for a coffee now. Dishwasher, washing machine and tech issues all before my first coffee, that’s an absolute no-go!
Waiting for my delivery and then straight to bed . I am wrecked and hanging on by my fingernails . Sleep sweet sleep is all I want
Starbucks Pup cup....
I do love the way they wrinkle their noses for getting into tubs
Right , I give up . I can’t stretch it out any longer . Good night .
Misery, I'm sorry
after all my bluster I can even switch the washing machine on
Back home here after another day out in the city. Gotta take advantage of the weather after all!
On the plus side, finally got the paperwork for the Cork city housing list submitted. They're aware of my situation, I hope they can move fast enough. On the down side, I got the physical termination letter to back up the email from earlier in the week. Please keep all available fingers crossed!
Decided to make a bit of a day out out of the whole thing today, who knows how long I'll have the breathing space for that…
fingers crossed for you. Any bites on the job front?.
Had one bite so far, I may have mentioned it on this thread. Series of five interviews scheduled, only to be cancelled 24 hours after they'd been confirmed. Nothing since then…
And honestly, I'm prioritising my housing situation now, there's no way I can hold a job when I'm out on the street. Others may manage, but I know myself too well…
Ugh, my contact at Threshold is out of the office for almost the entirety of May by the looks of it. Typical 🙄
Time to escalate that matter…
@thomil - great photos of a cracking day down in Cork. I really hope the situation on the jobs front improves for you. 🙏🤞
I'm sure you'd heard of the poor lad who drowned in the Lee whilst onlookers filmed him struggling and drowning with their phones instead of raising the alarm or throwing in a lifering. Despicable - what the f*ck is wrong with people these days? 😓😡
Looking forward to the May bank holiday weekend where I'll be doing as much SFA as possible... 😎☀️☀️
I've heard of that story alright, sickening! Didn't look into it too deeply though to be honest. My own mental health is fragile enough as it is, don't want to push myself over the edge.
I needed stuff from the shop so chanced it up , there seemed like a party going in full flow . Laughter , chat etc . It was a wake . A real party town this place .
You know what? Good on them! When the time comes for me, whenever that may be, I hope that people will remember me in a fun way, not a depressing one!
Me too . It’s just I’m from the country so wakes were more isolated . My new life in a village
Listening to the birds outside , and I didnt know they were up this early
The birds are as confused as anyone else these days, singing all hours.
Beautiful breeze off the sea, so it’s an extremely pleasant morning on my balcony.
Elisabeth Fort! Fantastic views over the city 🤩
Heading to bed . Deliveries arrived , I cant remember when I last slept .
No need for zzz tablets now .
Could do with bed too. Just after second coffee but the matchsticks are needed for me peepers
@Purple Mountain
I think I remember you saying that you were a Ray Goggins fan …new series "unchartered with Ray Goggins" is starting Wednesday 14th rte 1. Looks a bit like one of the bear Grylls celebrity shows.
have you watched 1923? Definitely doesn’t show the Irish Catholic Church in a good light.
Just got home here. Hit a real low point this afternoon so forced myself to go out and head into town. Good thing I did, I finally had a chance to try out the new e-Bikes coming to our local bike rental system. That electric motor is really a game changer on steep hills!
Actually nice one, looking at trying them myself for a more healthy trip around town that's not quite walking
If I may mutter darkly - neither should it but I shouldn't get into that grr argh
