Love the orient but only when I dine iin.
Yeah their food doesn't seem to travel well.
Let it be on your head for pointing out the nice cakes, I had a cinnabon roll and it was delicious, I now want more.
Unfortunately I have to agree with you 100% the quality really seems to have become terrible.
All Chinese and in general fast food places serve muck. Don't know how they are so popular.
I'd say they're not too happy in Sugar Drop at the moment. The path outside it is completely blocked off.
Probably actually better, the entrance from that side swings open too much and lets cold in, especially if you're sitting by window watching world go by. Main entrance in on Main St under Orient.
@Tango One One of us! One of us!
I actually forgot about the main entrance. 😆
anyone got the 115 recently? bus stop has been removed, not sure if stop has been officially been removed or getting a new pole or something?
Got it yesterday opposite the college, it's still functional just not sure why the pole is gone
Fusion is reopening on the 24th and rebranded as Meghna, website ready to go too...
https://meghnaspice.ie/delivery
I really liked Fusion but, with it being closed, I went to Delhi Darbar the other day and it was a different league, really liked it
wasn't it called something else before fusion? never seemed that busy, thought they'd given up, being at the back of a londis and up a side alley never seemed like recipe for success tbh
MaM's was the previous name I think. It was basically the Londis deli doing dinners
Yeah, Fusion/MaMs was always my first choice for main dishes (not kebabs though). Delhi Darbar is good, but the price is expensive for the portion size (for sit-in).
I see they're opening a cryoclinic near the Glenroyal bejasus.
There's a bit of a history of random woo shops down there - remember the Salt Cave?
Mad to think those works on mill street can take so long given the small area its covering.
Ireland i suppose.
Walking by them a bit, and it is a bit confusing, but something I've seen a lot of before.
Task - put in a protected cycle land with kerb.
Phase 1 - dig up and replace all pipes underneath it……
Phase 2 - ????
Phase 3 - Profit
It probably does make sense in an infrastructure way, or maybe a a council way of saving money - sure if we're doing works there we might as well replace everything; but instead of simply coming along and putting in kerbing; you can see it's all pipework that's currently being done, not something I'd normally associate with safe cycling
They are also installing a new bridge…
The Butlers Pantry fridges in the Natural Bakery are gone already!
Lads, quick one for ya.
Recently moved to Maynooth and im missing my old spots breakfast rolls (Rite Bite iykyk). Where's the best spot in Maynooth for a brekkie roll these days ?
I get my fix from Dunnes.
Donovan's (the big Centra in Greenfield) fry the eggs on demand rather than having the hockey pucks in the hot cabinet, that always wins for me
+1 on Donovans
Can't see much change from a tenner for a brekkie roll and coffee in donovans. No thanks.
Donovans all day long with the freshly fried eggs.
Btw - going back to January.
I'm still in a standoff with Thorntons bins; after switching to Greyhound.
They still won't take bins back unless I pay them €45 collection fee, I still have bins sitting in unused corner of front garden waiting for collection.
No issues with Greyhound, except for a calendar collection date change that caught me out, but which they came to collect the following day.
I had a similar issue with Panda and after a couple of phone calls I emailed them the following:
Hi Katlene, I just wanted to remind you that Panda's free 5-7 days of bin storage (as requested by Emma) to facilitate collection at my house has now ended. For reference, the notice to terminate my account was given verbally to both Emma and to Sam on the 8th of May 2024. The terms of my providing a bin storage service was also outlined to them on this telephone call. The storage plan that Panda have opted into by not removing their bins from my property before today has the following terms and conditions:
If I do not hear from Panda I will assume that these terms and conditions have been accepted and will begin invoicing you in four weeks time. I think that you will agree that, considering the absolutely terrible service that Panda has provided to us over the last few months, this is a very generous offer. I would also like to request that you pass a copy of this email to your Accounts Payable team as they will need to set me up as a supplier to Panda. Yours sincerely

They collected the bins within a couple of days. 😃👍🏻
Mcdonalds breakfest deals are decent. The roll with brown sauce is nice. Porridge also decent.
Excellent work there!
@Lastblackdog Funny.
But I've no real gievance with Thorntons, they were good as a service, just kept upping their price each year, so I jumped to a new provider.
