If you see a job that needs doing..
Small steps, we all have our interests, allot of us would be straight to the shed / field. Keep strong
Don't the stats say something like 1 in 4 get cancer. So every family gets a touch of it
Sadly I’d say you’re right. Allot depends on the type and how early it’s discovered. We’ve a good few recovering around us
Had plenty in the extended family here too
He was foolish, his hernia was probably as a result of doing the same thing after the first op.
He couldn't have done worse than pulling himself up into the lorry.
Heart problems are the problem in our families in that they're coming from both sides.
I never had a blood uncle/aunt/parent with cancer
There's No talking to some people. He realised today that he doesn't have the energy atm. Lying in bed thinking of stuff you should be at . Was surprised they let him out. Was good to have him home for a while
That was nice for you all. Jez lads isn’t it hard to beat your own bed, that sleep is medicine in itself
YYeah but you have to get out of it at some stage
The nurses have him spoilt, hìs tea was waiting for him and the nurse who brought the wheelchair down to get him at the door was talking to him about lorries.
Unfortunately that seems to be the case. Brother, who is the farmer in our family recently diagnosed. It's not looking good for him. Typical bachelor farmer, wasnt looking after himself and left it too late. Both parents still alive. They cant get their head around it.
IIs it an eu based site or delivery from outside of the eu
Cork made some mess of their lead today. gave it away.
yyes and tipp drew with limerick. 2 draws amazing really
I think they're in China
Sister just started treatment for Brest cancer this week, chemo, surgery then radiation therapy. Be a full year of treatment. Two uncles having treatment and surgery for prostate cancer at moment. My mam is just four years gone after hers. My OH has has treatment and surgery over the years too for what they call “precancerous cells” going back 20 years.
great to see, I hope they continue bottling it, in fairness Clare are a sticky dirty team it’s hard to keep them down
I'm very sorry to hear that.
We might be here tomorrow arguing over topics, but to you and Whelan2 and anyone else with sickness in the family, you have my prayers and best wishes.
Reading the story above, reminds me of a bachelor, I knew whom had cancer, he loved his 20 milking cows, but he got so weak that he used to milk half and go in home for a rest and then come out an hour later to milk the rest.
It's a sad story, when sickness comes to a place. Hopefully things improve 🙏
One of my reasons for hating the dept is because of a similar story. Lad used to milk 30 cows in a byre. He was obviously sick for a while and wasn't fit to tag calves etc. He went downhill rapidly and died. His daughter went into the dept with all she could find. She wasn't involved in the farm at all and just wanted the livestock sold. Woman in the dept read her the riot act over not having calves tagged and cows missing tags. She left the office in tears. This farmer would have sold calves to AI so was not a rooter but was not fit to mind stock before he died. Thought dept showed no compassion or even common sense. In fairness the td at the time sorted it out(he was farming himself and knew the craic)
Seen the same here, a man in bad health, the department asked to help with registrations, they came down like a ton of bricks on him for it.
Another man on the beer his whole life, they tagged, registered, tested and organized the sale of the animals after years of dead and dying animals dumped and locked into sheds to die. It's hard figure out their actions at times
a relation of mine died suddenly at 54, had 2 daughters in their early 20’s, a month or so after he died they had an inspection, they had prepared as best they could for it, the Dept inspector made little of them and laughed at their efforts, finished up by saying “what business have ye keeping cattle wouldn’t ye just rent the place out”. There are some real scumbags working for the department, they must think they can go through life treating people like dirt and it’ll never catch up with them. I absolutely despise them.
IIt's The same in every profession there's those who let a tiny bit of power go to their heads and there's others who can't do enough for you
I would never use any of my energy hating or despising anybody, from what I seen of civil servants, they will do what suits them first, what suits their team second and the right thing mostly seems to come last. However you will get civil servants that do not follow the above road and will do the right thing but from what I understand they have to lock themselves into their office and take the phone off the hook for their own wellbeing, from management and the general public.
see the pope has died. RIP. He was only on the news last night meeting he Vance. As my father always says an old piece of steel or an old man can break at any moment. thought he was a decent pope
I'd be of the opinion most of them are just doing their job and have no say in things that are happening. Then lads lose their **** with them, I always try the nice nice approach, as most of what's happening is normally out of their control. There's a lad in icbf in the genotyping section, I've stopped ringing as he just doesn't give a crap and he actually can't do anything. Some of these people are just put there so you wont ring again.
true theres good and bad in every walk of life. i do feel that the civil service has the untouchable vibe. i reckon young people go into civil service and the old timers drag the life out of them because it makes them look bad. on the flip side you can see the risk of burn out in the health or care services if you try too hard or care too much. the dept of ag while important is not life and death.
Had very small dealings with the dept last year because of tb.
I had a bit of human error on their side with delayed paperwork sent in. I could have done the dog on it. But I didn't and if the shoe was on the other foot probably there'd be no leeway given. But after it was finished we were all on amicable grounds and still are. It most likely is the individual who you are dealing with and how much of a jobsworth they are. The whole ag machine kind of forgets these are all humans on both sides. It works very well though when the side with the supervisors realises that.
I was reading about that visit where Vance told the Pope he was praying? for him. Seems Vance is a Catholic convert since 2019 attracted to its ancient conservatism in line with the conservative beliefs of the GOP and then went one further is now Orthodox.
Years ago my dad had to get a permit for cattle for the factory, old brass tags. There was a number wrong on the permit and the factory wouldn't kill 1 animal. He rang the dvo and the girl said I don't make errors. My dad went in there with the paper he'd given her earlier and a copy of the permit. Oh I must have had a lapse...
How long is he Russian Orthodox?
