There's base salary and bonuses so often when you see conflicting figures reported they aren't comparing apples to apples.
Like with transfer fees, there are add-ons and agent fees that can massively increase the base price that gets quoted by the buying team.
I have no idea how anyone knows how much the players are paid, it is all speculation from journalists. All we know is that we are consistently at the top end for wages for the club and most of that is the players, how that is divided is just guess work.
And to add to the speculation, the Athletic had an article on how the Salah extension was handled and it was speculated that with all the extras that he has in his contract his salary is close to £1m per week but the base reported is what you have said. They did it that way as they did not want to give other players ideas on getting pay rises.
Great news Van Dijk and Salah are tied down for another couples years, with a busy summer of incomings required either of the two of them leaving would have made it exponentially harder then it already will be. Wonder when they will announce Trent is off?
With the two lads done we can focus on the RB, LB, CM and then DM spots this summer. Maybe even a CB as well.

Who the champion is is important because its their job to essentially sell tickets going forward so not like a normal show (WWE run dozens of non televised events too and the merchandise department is key revenue driver).
One wrong storyline turn can lead to company going from massive profitability to huge losses in very quick time (look up Austin heel turn at Wrestlemania 17 or Goldberg loss at Starrcade 98 and subsequent Fingerpoke of Doom a week later).
A new striker must be the highest priority this summer. It looks like Nunez is off and Jota cannot stay fit. Diaz hasn't been a success there. It is the easiest way for us to improve next season, take the pressure to score off Salah and lead the press to avoid easy outs for defences.
It's sounds mad, but we badly need a proper striker. With Mo now signing on, we have 2 years to effectively replace his goals.
We are so toothless in transition at times, Mo doesn’t have the direct pace to go at full backs anymore. Diaz is unpredictability, and likes to cut inside to much. Nunez has pace but is headless, and Jotas pace seems to have already deserted him at only 28(injuries haven't helped obviously). Our best threat is Gakpo, but he's injured a lot recently, and he seems to take a while to get back at it after injuries.

A man can dream I suppose but Nunez is by far and away the most expensive forward we have ever bought and he's been out least successful by mile so I reckon there'll be a more measured acquisition that ticks the potential box.
I don't think we'll (or anyone outside the oil teams) be able to afford Isak this summer. Newcastle will be looking for 150m.
Ekitke from Frankfurt would be someone I could see happening. Alverez for something in between both price wise. And I wouldn't mind David as he's on a free.
He's been far from our least successful forward signing, whatever about value for money, we've absolutely had worse. We even bought one last summer
Andy Carroll was a worse signing. Adjusting for inflation he probably cost an equivalent amount.

Word of Nunez going to the Middle East for a tidy penny. That would be a good finish to the season. I know he has some vocal defenders on here, but I am fed up to my eye teeth with his brainless decision making and woeful finishing.
To be fair, most of his defenders here have given up about mid way this season. Captain chaos wore very thin as he created more chaos for us than the opposition. We bought some time by keeping Mo for two more years but we badly need a stricker, a LB, RB backup and in time another CB.

He was good last year but could have been excellent if he converted about 20% of those big chances he missed.
This season hasn't been good or bad, he hasn't played much and I don't think he suits the more patient build up we now do.
That's true he doesn't suit a patient build up but there were games when we needed more route one to a striker but he was found wanting and I don't think he was trusted enough later in the season to even use him off the bench for route one.
you'd almost feel sorry for UTD at this stage…
The general PL thread is wreaked with LFC Vs Utd flame war nonsense so I'm struggling to feel any sorrow for Utd. They will be hunting for the same players we want this summer so it may be best that they don't have a possibility of CL after all.
