That's never a knock on?
That's a huge error - scrum penalty and probably another three points from a phantom knock on
Nah, it wasn't. Either Carley or touch judge made an error there.
Jaminet is an absolute weapon with the boot, holy crap.
so he hasn't shat the bed or is mentally beaten…
I’d say Charley will be looking to penalise Toulon to make up for that knock on decision.
That's not how referees operate. He won't be doing that.
i like Carley, he one of the better refs at the moment..
very honest with the players..
(his pretend call for TMO review after he falls is a favourite rugby moment of mine)
He won’t blatantly do it but if there is a 50/50 decision he might consider it.
No he won't. His decision-making will occur totally independent of that mistake. He's a professional.
Toulouse’s whooping after a turnover is hard to listen to even for a neutral
We're in the milking a penalty/drop goals territory now.
He’s a brutal referee. Him whistling Fiji off the pitch against Wales in 2023 World Cup when an upset was on the cards was disgraceful.
Ramos having one of his classic collapses. Jaminet has been superb today.
Yeah, baffling that anyone could think Carley's a top ref.
That's game.
Villiere howker
Oh my days. What a horrific error.
What a time to drop the ball.
That’s a shocker to hand the match to Toulouse.
Jesus, feel bad for Villiere. Was just thinking it was a bizarre kick from Toulouse.
Toulouse, much like France, are a considerable lesser side without Dupont.
Toulon their own worst enemies. I'd say Bordeaux wouldn't have feared either of the two teams today based on their performances.
Christ, you'd feel for Toulon all the same.
However, on the balance of 2 tries to zip, you'd say Les Toulousains deserve it.
We may have had to put up with some dross in the R16 and QFs, but two quality SFs await now
Whatever I think of Carey as a referee today he was good.
Heartbreaking, and from a really bad kick as well. If he'd messed up "worse" at the catch and knocked on instead they might still have saved it.
Very poor mistake and so costly in the end.
I thought on 1st look the kick should have been closer to the touchline than where it was kicked from (couple of meters goal side the 5m) but only got the 1 quick look at it and no replay.
ETA: nevermind saw the replay it was the right spot.
Ramos nerves of steel when needed as usual even after a few misses which were very unlike him
Poor conditions but on today's evidence Leinster's 5th star is in the bank.
Would like to see the tackle on Villiere again. Thought he spilled it backwards and was hit just before he regathered the ball live. Marginal but looked a bit early.
Such a harsh call on that sealing off. That happens at literally every ruck.
Villiere held in the tackle so penalty regardless
