If you see a job that needs doing..
Looking for some advice with regards to a donkey next door to us. He’s been kept in a shed for nearly 8 weeks. In a tiny back section of the shed. Is it normal to keep a donkey like this? He’s constantly crying out. He’s never left out.
If it’s not normal who should i get onto?
Maybe try the owner before getting on to animal welfare crowd. Do you know who the owner is or if the animal might be kept inside for a reason ? Might have an injury etc. do you know if they're being fed and watered, lots of different factors to consider, but if you do know the owner and go behind their back calling someone else, then guaranteed you'll be falling out with them.
Sad to see Danny Deady passed away, one of my favourite auctioneers and some of my best young memories was listening to him sell stock in Abbeyfeale Mart. RIP
the owner is a farmer next to me. I’d say he’s definitely been fed. He’s an auld lad living on his own. The donkey defiantly isn’t injured
I couldn’t careless about falling out with him if it’s not normal to keep a healthy donkey like this
donkeys are often roaring for no apperant reason ,my neighbour pet donkeys out in the field starts that crack early every morning might be more in your line to call in on your elderly neighbour and be a friendly neighbour
Can I ask is it the donkey inside your bothered about or the donkey roaring all hours of the day and night and he wrecking your head your bothered about.....
Donkeys are hardy animals and will endure a lot of weather as long as there is food. A donkey doesn't do too well on it's own though. They'll roar on any aul whim though.
How can you say the donkey is not injured or receiving treatment for a condition, are you your neighbours vet.
When you say a tiny shed, what size is it, tiny to ten different men, are ten different sizes. Why will you not engage with your neighbour, especially if he's old he will probably be grateful for any help and company. It's not just your feelings you have to think of, is your neighbour sick, is the donkey sick, is the donkey causing issues with other animals. Sometimes it's not the donkey in the shed that's the problem.
To be fair, a few of yous keep repeating that there is roumers, either tell us what the roumers is or stop mentioning yous have roumers.
It's not strange somebody would ask what the roumer exactly is when it's being repeated regularly.
Why does it matter that he’s a farmer? Or an elderly man?
If you don’t want to talk to this “oul farmer” then maybe talk to another neighbour who might know him.
Or if you’ve a bit of an acre yourself, you could offer it to the man in case he’s short of grass and is still feeding hay inside to the donkey?
DDon't be an ass about it...
It’s hard not to be when you really just want to say ‘hit the road Jack’ 😂
Why would anyone spread rumours on-line, about a missing person case?
Why discuss it or keep commenting online that there is roumers.
If I was in that situation I wouldn't like all these theories branded.
Make it aware he's lost and try to find him but quit speculating roumers.
The amount of clickbait headlines from the newspapers isn't helping either
Sorry if I’m late to the game with this but myself and herself just watched ‘This Farming Life’ on BBC and it’s great. In a different league to the condescending ‘Ear to the Ground’.
Day-in day-out stuff that hopefully shows the non-farming audience where their food comes from and the real people who produce it.
Mclroy 3 shots ahead in The Masters now, after 6 holes.
Not normal to keep a donkey in that long, unless there was something seriously wrong with it.
They are social animals and need company, they do get desperate lonely on their own, that's why it is normal to keep a pair of donkeys together.
Only thing I can say about the shed size is 10ft x 10ft would be smallish for a horse, for a donkey a bit less?
I can understand not wanting to confront the farmer. There is one in every parish that you wouldn't want to draw onto yourself.
Hopefully he holds his nerve, he blew up a few times. People always said he'd win another major. The longer he goes on without winning a major the harder it'll be.
Spectacular looking golf course
getting very nervy now. Rose has momentum and Rory has the pressure bubble. Awful shot on the 13th
three players tied at -10 now
Rory having a wee mare at the moment... hopefully he will steady the ship
Getting exciting now. 3 tied in the lead.
Rory 1 up with just the last hole to play. hopefully he can finish it out now
had a putt to win but missed. playoff now with Rose
incredible. Shows how the game is won in the 6inches between the ears. Mcillroy practising that shot to win a green jacket for the past 4o years. Had his chance an d blew it
Great shot by McIlroy there
He got the job done eventually... hard to believe its 14yrs ago since he had that nightmare back 9 on that course
Brilliant.
