Of course that's your opinion 👍
It sounds very similar to those excusing Crowley's poor performances earlier in the season on the wider Munster or Irish team not playing well.
Which part sounds very similar? Care to provide some examples
Your eyeroll emoji excuse sounds very familiar for Crowley.
When Crowley underperforms there are similar excuses blaming other factors.
There is a never ending list of examples, take a post from less than 24 hours ago on this thread when a poster does it twice in the same post.
"the form thing isnt really true though. he was fantastic away to northampton right before the 6Ns and away to ulster before christmas, a relatively poor game away to castres in europe is colouring people's perception a bit (although the team in general was well below standard that day). even going back to the AIs, he didnt do anything too special against NZ but again the team in general was well below par for the majority of the match, but he was played very well against Argentina and when he come on against Aus.
I'm sure if this Munster game keeps going the way it is, along with Crowley's performance being forgettable, there will be people out making excuses.
What does any of that have to do with my post?
My rolleyes that you seem upset about, was that it's apparently the coaches fault if prendergast doesn't perform like when he is getting an armchair ride with Leinster.
Then when you try to post similar, you fail to do so. Which I am shocked by.
Im sure you can look through that never ending list for comparable examples
We're seeing why a lot of these Munster players don't get picked for Ireland TBH.
So posters blaming outside factors for Prendergast poor performances is bad but posters making similar excuses for Crowley's poor performances is ok.
Now that is worth a 🙄
Saying no one on the team played well, isn't similar to saying if prendergast doesn't play well it's the coaches fault. 🙄
But I'm sure you will pull up some more of those endless examples you have. I'll wait
Excuses for Prendergast = bad, excuses for Crowley = good is just an embarrassing opinion.
Have to say, based on current form, I'd have McGrath in the Irish squad as the 3rd SH.
This is very reductive tho. Is anybody calling for a lot of these Munster players to get picked for Ireland?
However, pair some of these Munsters players with the current Irish players, and I think they could flourish when surrounded by better players.
On current form yes, but I don't massively trust him to maintain it and there isn't much point at his age. He might tour in the summer though, would make up for a big loss of experience in JGP and Murray.
Yea, I mean you'd definitely want Farrell to invest in the young lads, but if the WC was this year I think he'd go.
who said excuses for Crowley = good?
There is no need to just make things up.
Now any chance of some actual comparable excuses from the countless examples you apparently have?
I don’t think Farrell has ever had McGrath in a squad tho, has he?
Don't know, but he's always been really poor for years.
this is a very valid point we have been shouting about.
all leinster want is a 1-23 irish team with leinster players…
it's polarising the rugby nation at this stage.
McGrath's box kicking is still really poor. He gets no distance on his exits. His passing seems to be as good as it's ever been though.
Imo, McGrath's passing is the one area of his game that has prevented him from getting more caps; it's often nowhere near good enough.
That's what has made this season so remarkable. He genuinely looks fantastic passing lately. It's done my head in for years, that he couldn't sort it out.
I would hope he would invest in Murphy & Gunne given WC is 27. But agree with above post if it was this year he deserves the 3rd slot for sure
I actually think Murphy deserves the 3rd slot to be honest.
That isn't a slight on McGrath. He's had a much better season than the previous few.
Highly possible we could see a match in the Summer where both Ben and Jack are the half-backs
Is Murphy definitely ahead of Devine?
in my view absolutely I think the Devine rating is highest closest to home but I don’t see him as a threat to Murphy at all. Gunne to me is ahead of Murphy and fit for test rugby very soon, his defence in SA was awesome, game saving against Sptingboks front row.
I honestly don't think Gunne is better than Murphy at all. In fact I don't think it's close at the moment.
Gunne definitely has a higher ceiling but Murphy has a much higher floor.
Yeah if Gunne travels it would be very much a development experience for him, he’s still a way off where he needs to be.
I’d bring Casey, Murphy and either Doak or Gunne. No point bringing Blade or McGrath at this stage.
Doak, no thank you despite his great boot. Fair point on higher ceiling and lower floor v Murphy. But this has to be towards a 27 vista. If so then pretty straightforward i would have thought.

Crowley down for 7 missed tackles yesterday. I thought his point of difference v Prendergast was his defence?
It is. Sam missed 8 last week. 😉
unfortunately, prendergast will be the losing of your 5th star this year.
