Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Never heard of him either, but I know/like Field Lines Cartographer that supports. Great ambient soundscapes.
That's some double bill of band names. Sounds like a night out forthe county council.
Just seen Refused are charging €70 for a standing ticket in the Olympia, no thanks
Got two for Everything Everything yesterday and pleasantly surprised at them being less than €34 each for standing. Only some front rows of seating were slightly over that price. Even with fees, it was still less than €40 each total.
Yea I was kinda thinking it would be €50 but similar to the rise against gig I ain't paying €70 for the Olympia.
I'd say they got some notions this tour. Playing venues in UK far bigger than their last run, which don't think fully sold out. Announcing supports within hours of on sale too doesn't scream confidence
TThis feels better than last year. The Orb making up for cancellation last year. Would be surreal to see The Orb in Limavady!! Some other decent names there also including Problem Patterns and TWBS. Will now buy tickets. Had been holding off, as last year line up was not great.
Agree with you on all you say.
Yeah, sound like thrash metal or something!!
This is why I like this forum - never heard of them either but five mins in and I was sold.
Nerves also highly recommended, though they lost their excellent bass player to Gurriers last year.
Punk tonight upstairs in Whelans, the Meffs. About €17.
For those interested by Warrington-Runcorn.. I highly recommend Craven Faults. Much longer tracks to get lost in and a bit more Kosmische. https://cravenfaults.bandcamp.com/music
That's nice stuff alright. Echos of some of the Public Service Broadcasting material without the archive footage.
Edit: the Warrington Runcorn tracks, I mean.
Chalk in Whelans tonight,
in the words of Jimmy Page, Jack White and errrrr… The Edge, it might get loud
Love 'em, but still think they need more instrumentation to further flesh out the sound. Seen them twice as support act. I don't think the lead singer plays an instrument which only leaves two of them to bash about. Noiseniks for sure but I'd love more.
Only seeing this now. Dammit, would love to see them but they'll be finished by the time I make it in. Great price too, hopefully they'd a good turnout and come again.
Catfish and the bottle men in fairview for €59 is tremendous value, brilliant band that have passed me by in the past.
Are all the gigs in fairview in the big marquee? Should be brilliant if so!
Providing they turn up..
They are on my experience .
Fine on a wet day , stuffy on a fine day .

Not to be missed - A highly anticipated evening, featuring rare acoustic and stripped back original songs and covers.
They played a wee stage in the trees (can't remember its stupid name) last year at ATN & were very good. But I kinda know @Seathrun66 means about the sound. A bit "bleak" almost. But very enjoyable racket.
I was hugely impressed with them. Along with Cardinals (another acquired taste) my fave new Irish acts of the last couple of years.
How were they?
Definitely loud for sure, but very very good.
Yeah they were very good. Saw them supporting Idles so it was good to see them headlining their own gig.
They hit the floor running and kept on whacking out bangers after belters
Very well rehearsed and tightly wound
They remind me of an angry angsty Underworld with a buzz saw thrown into the mix
Drummer is great, a veritable human drum machine, singers got the right moves n swagger and the electro twiddler guitar guru knows how to throw a shape or two as well
Really great show, oodles of energy and cathartic blizzed out noise
On a side note, first time using Loops at a gig, feckin glad I had them as it was feckin LOUD
Arcade Fire have been drip feeding small’ish venues for their new album promo tour, a few in US , Mexico, and Canada, and now London Royal Albert Hall May 14th, 1st European gig
Aurora playing Trinity on Sunday 29th June. That must be one of the last Trinity gigs to be announced at this stage.
still a Friday night free so at least one more to go
Ah nice one. Probably be announced in next few weeks so. Would think vast majority of the outdoor summer gigs will be announced by the May bank holiday weekend. Do ya reckon there will be any more gigs announced for Kilmainham in August? Inky the 2 so far. Seems pricey to rig up a stage just for 2 gigs.
