Today's EK420 DXB-PER is diverting to Melbourne – a three hour flight away from where passengers were going.

FAF C-130 back to Southampton and onwards to Villacoublay-Vélizy Air Base
Saw a C-130 climbing out of Baldonnel around 1130. Not showing on ADS-B so I'm guessing that it was it.
It would be good manners to acknowledge the source (with which I'm familiar).
Apologies for failing to mention the source.
A very good resource for any military visitors to Baldonnel.

C130 & A400M.
According to Flightradar an Air Tractor is due in shortly to shannon from Canada. Is that a mislabel or is it an actual air tractor?
Maybe a delivery flight? I didn't see it on ADSB, but did it come across by doing hops from Newfoundland and then Iceland?
Spotted it as it came in over the coast
Agricultural aircraft. Presumably on a delivery flight - could be somewhere in Europe but might be further afield (no pun, etc)
Edit: posted before I saw the other replies pointing out the obvious 😁
Fair dues!
So that was a solo flight, right? It's a single-seat….? If so, that's some effort!
Edit: oh, turns out that they do a two-seat version too. But still!
Would have had to have 2 pilots for that, 1 to keep her steady while the other empties the jerry cans into the fuel tank
Wonder if they can fill the chemical tank up with fuel for the delivery?!? Some of them hold 4000 litres!
Shur they can just stop off at an Applegreen, grab a Supermacs while they're at it
Yeah, was wondering that.
The range on the twin seater is 1300km and the distance from Shannon to Reykjavik is 1450km, so something has to be done to add capacity. I suppose they could have a siphon from the chem tank!
I believe that's what they do.
Nope, just one pilot on this one on landing.
That's nuts! Wonder what the lay-over duration is for a soloist like that.
He left again at about 8 this morning
Anybody else finding the Flightradar app glitchy today? Planes that are in the air are not appearing for me.
Yea they posted on facebook saying they where having issues, Todays Qatar dublin flight landed in Ratoath in Meath according to FR24.
What is going on here ? Surveying ?
Their website says that their B200s do aerial surveying.
Deafness claims from fishermen. Yet another benefit of the Trump administration… 😁
Strange, I haven't seen 2 Mildenhall based F15s over the Irish Sea before, they seemed to have loitered for over 30 minutes around the bay west of Aberystwyth. They flew a more or less direct track from the North Sea over too.
Just to note that they are based at Lakenheath (not far from Mildenhall, though).
Looks like they were also doing the “Mach Loop” before and afterwards.
Would a sonic boom be very loud at sea level when it's flying at an altitude of over 9000m?
Nah, not really. I was being facetious given the historical army deafness claims of the 90's. I was in France once when a number of fighters were having a practice dog-fight over land, they were around the same altitude. The boom was very noticeable and dislodged dust and debris out of the rafters alright. Didn't help the hangover anyway.
