It would be unusual to have surgery at the weekend in this country. I was very surprised when my sister had elective surgery on a Sunday at the Western General in Edinburgh. I'd say this new minister for health, McNeill, will put the skids under them or hopefully so.
I’ve had a week like that, fit to get the shotgun and shoot the lot of them, if I had a brain cell in my head I’d have never bothered with the place, unfortunately it looks like I don’t have many brain cells, I’ve spent a lot of money the last year and already thinking about the next jobs

Big market crash coming today, the Asian markets have been in pure shock all morning, worst thing is, there is absolutely no need for any of this to happen. We can thank the orange man child.
Asian markets in fairness are catching up from last week as they were closed on Friday. Though it's looking bad pre market in the US too.
All what you say is correct but it's funny. If Trump gave tax breaks to corporations and the markets surged he'd be accused of funneling money to billionaires. There wouldn't be any mention of retirees pension pots surging.
But when he tanks the markets and erodes hundreds of billions in wealth from the likes of Musk, Zuck, Bezos, then it's all about peoples pensions.
This is going to end bad for Trump, the everyday American invests the money in stocks for their pension. Ordinary American won't like the tampering that hes doing.
It doesn't make one iota of economic sense what he is doing. In the UK when Truss went mad on her polices the whole system was days away from crash. You can't interfere dramatically in an economy without repercussions. The US is best of all to take a shock but its going to hurt. I think the world as we know it has entered a dangerous phase of far right.
And there I was a few weeks ago looking through papers, bragging to the wife how my private pension went up a good bit last year. She is very safe with money and only for the tax savings I would stick to the state savings in the post office.

Doing deals with the same USA that caused this in the first place. The Eu should hold it's nerve in the face of US economic turmoil and see where it's heading. Their entire reasoning is based in bad faith; you cannot negotiate any deal with them if that's their starting point. They've threatened us, we shouldn't be rushing to appease them.
Me thinks his reasons for tariffs aren't economic, he's using them like a mafia boss would to try and control and devide, and for personal reasons, loves the limelight.

In other news, fires raging everywhere in the S west, - the whole place is like a tinderbox with dead fionán (the green regrowth is slow this year) and still some gobshytes can't keep their lighters or matches in their pockets. It's very serious now, because you lose all payments on any ground burnt - usually Acres as well as Biss/Eco around here.
It's the number 1 way to damage someone now because of the department stance. I reckon there'll be fights or court cases over this years fires.

On one hand the government are trying to build relationships with landowners to allow access for hiking on mountains. But on the other the farmer is 100% responsible if one of these hikers carelessly starts a fire.
This is a problem with regulations. Burnt land is ineligible for grazing. It doesn't matter who burnt it. Punishing the people farming the land when the arsonist could be anyone is wrong.

It is, but those excuses was well abused by farmers and farm organisations in defence of people who were as guilty as sin.
I'm not sure what the answer is to that conundrum.

My point is that historically a blind eye was turned or there was always an excuse someone else to blame, to the extent that zero tolerance was deemed to be the only option by the authorities.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
