Finally
TOTK I still have it sitting on my shelf. Didn't get to play it yet due to being busy when it was released and never got around to it. But glad now I didn't.
I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday about BOTW the lowest I saw was about 30 euro second hand.
Beeb article from a journo who got some hands-on playtime with the Switch 2:
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cy9vjn9rg72o
So if I stick my BOTW cart into the switch 2, how much will I have to pay to upgrade?
I’m hoping it’s a tenner max.
A tenner? Not with Nintendo I don't think.
I have both games. Will do the upgrade at least for TOTK whenever I get a Switch 2. Have loads left to do in TOTK.
I think if you have Nintendo online expansion, it will be included. As far as I'm aware.
Have they confirmed or mentioned anything about the price of Nintendo online for switch 2? Is it staying the same?
The expansion definitely won't be staying the same if they're adding GC games. And tbh with the added voice chat/video gubbins I'd expect pricing generally to increase, this is Nontendo after all...
Not bad at all the internal storage will hold some amount of first party games.
Mario Kart World is listed as having a 23.4 GB file size.
Donkey Kong Bonanza listed 10 GB file size
Kirby and the Forgotten Land weighing 5.7 GB
Are peeps keeping their switch 1 or selling it?
Unsure what to do as thinking of keeping the switch 1 for our kids so they can play switch 1 co-op games with both consoles?
I would keep it some switch games wont work on the switch 2.It seem smythtoys not taking anymore preorder online not sure about store.
Hopefully I can set up a family NSO account again and a few of us can split the cost.
Not surprised by the prices to be honest, typical Nintendo carry on. I'll continue to use my modded original Switch for first gen games etc. Now would be a good time to consider modding it considering you can still do all your 'official online switch stuff' on the Switch 2.
Some hype at the moment.
Amazon UK seemingly offering 'invites' for pre-orders.
I'd imagine pre-orders will open again at some point if they confirm stick. Seen this happen before.
It's what I thought was happening, though you could interpret the box art writing in a couple of ways, but now we have confirmation that the Switch 2 Edition physical games are Switch cartridges with a download code for the Upgrade Pack. FFS! Talk about being lazy and half-@®$ing these games. And they're full price as well. 🤬
Nintendo Switch 2 Edition physical games are Switch carts with an upgrade code
I think it's ridiculous they are going to charge 80 euro for a digital game At least if you buy a physical game you can play it and then sell it to someone else and get some money back .It looks like a powerful system but it only has 6 hours battery life max
it does kinda put you off buying switch 2 im only buying it for switch exclusive mario zelda but €80 is terrible pricing you would have to shop around for a better price.
We're already seeing lower prices on Amazon.fr.
I don't really mind the price, I'd spend 100+ in three or four hours if I went out and all I'd have to show for it would be a pain in my head the next day.
Also for those who sell their games you'll get more selling now as well so the cost to change should be relatively similar to this gen.
CD Project have confirmed Cyberpunk will take up the max of 64gb on cartridge. Run at 30FPS in quality and performance 40FPS
I got the email from Nintendo inviting me to preorder on Tuesday. I presume they don't take the €500 there and then? Is it known how it will work? Like a small deposit and lump sum on release? Or can it be paid weekly in installments? I have 2 holidays, a kids birthday, and a car service, among other things, around then so the timing is atrocious for me.
Also, another question which maybe we haven't the answer for. If i buy a switch 2 edition game, can i play the non-enhanced version on my Switch 1?
Donkey kong Bananza work out at €61.49 on amazon.fr way better than €80 i be buying of them that for sure. How much is it to ship to ireland?.
Might sound daft question but I guess the box art be in French? Would thst effect whether cex would then taken it for trade in when done with it?
Yeah, pretty ****, so it's less value if sold too, as the buyer would have to pay for the Switch 2 upgrade again. Or if you just want to lend the game to someone. They don't have access to the Switch 2 version without paying.
That is just plain lousy. Too much nickel and diming going on with this launch.
5.06 for one game I preordered
Switch 2 Pro controller has a 3.5mm headphone jack positioned under its D-pad will any headset work like the official Xbox wired headset with 3.5mm jack and still be able to control volume with the ear cup.
If you pre-ordered in store make sure to take a clear photo of the receipt just for a back up over 60 days until release best for safe keeping.
I seen this earlier and meant to post it.
Fair play to CD Projekt Red. There's already other companies cheaping out on Switch 2 games with infinitely smaller file sizes, by including key cards, instead of their game on a cartridge. I was reminded of it by this horrible news.
CD Projekt Red confirms 64GB is max Nintendo Switch 2 cartridge capacity
WTF? I have my suspicions that Nintendo are using pretty much the same cartridge as on Switch, and this bad news does nothing to dissipate those thoughts.
https://www.resetera.com/threads/cd-projekt-red-community-manager-confirms-that-64gb-is-the-max-available-switch-2-cartridge-capacity.1156503/
Good overview. Switch 2 display big improvement. Brighter / better than Switch 1 OLED.
