Where's the cheapest breakfast or brunch in the city now that Witherspoon's is gone?
Does anywhere do an Irish breakfast or eggs Benedict for under a tenner?
Only been to Nosh19 once and it was great. Really interesting menu and the staff are willing to explain everything.
Ah brilliant! Thanks for your feedback Sammy! I must try Nosh again some time soon! ❤️
Another +1 for Nosh19.
I really wanted to be adventurous but I was starving by the time I got there so went with the Hunan beef. Was lovely.
My friends had the Satay hot pot, roasted duck and a Pho, all really enjoyed it. Large enough portions too.
Had never gone in to Nash19. Didnt realise the place is so big
Great thanks, heading during the week so should be fine
We've just shown up. It's pretty big but I've always been there at off peak times.
@the beer revolu do I have to ring to book Nosh19?or can I just show up?

Where is this?
A good few city places named for the Cork list:

Iyers will be serving food from O'Sho's every Monday.
Might have to make that a new routine 🤔
wow fair play to Aisling and co.. fish is my fav food - and I love what she does with it.. and nothing is wasted! love her ethos - and love the interior design
Goldie is Ireland's no. 1 restaurant according to the Irish Times top 100 for 2025. A lot of us won't be surprised by this
Went to Nosh 19….again!
Still love it. Plenty of more stuff to try. Ask for the translated Chinese menu.
Yeah, a friend went and wasn't too impressed. Said the sauces were fine but that the pasta was awful - wallpaper paste was mentioned.
And to answer my own question… not too impressed.
The (homemade) pasta was tough and tasteless, and the sauce needed a bit of help. I've never had guanciale before, granted, but i found the ham here tough, and too gammony, for my taste anyway, if that makes sense. But there wasn't too much.
Fettuccini Amatriciana. EUR14
No extra cheese offered.
Spice in Carrigaline announced last week that they would have to close and it was their final week, but today they have come out and said that due to massive support and some other factors going their way (not sure what these could be), they have found a way to remain open.
That chicken dish looks literally thrown together. Like they grabbed each thing from a old Hellman's mayonnaise bucket with one hand and just fecked it onto the plate. The same type of bucket one's grandad would store turf in in the shed.
I'm sure it tasted good though. Have had a few meself.
market Lane Thursday night
Flawless in every way - food, ambiance and service..
I wish other restaurants in the city would follow suit!
Has anyone visited DON GREGORIO on Washington Street yet?
Fresh pasta… the reviews seem a bit mixed.
I can't seem to edit the pic into my last post.
Went to Nosh 19 again on Sunday. They now have the Chinese menu printed and bound but I'd say you still have to request it. (I suspect that some very conservative eaters would be put off by some of the things on the menu).
Mrs Beer ordered the "boiled fish and pickled cabbage)". While the description isn't exactly flowery, the dish is really, really good. There was a huge amount of bass in a really good, light, clean broth with the cabbage (delicious) tofu, back fungus and lots of dried chillies and Sechuan pepper. Pretty hot!
This dish, especially with an extra rice ordered, would easily feed two people. Easily. We took loads home.
The twin roast was also lovely - a simple affair of 2 roast meats, pak choi, rice and a great spring onion sauce. I was able to finish this.
They will pack up any leftovers. That fish dish was €23. I'm a fan😋
Between my wife and I in Ichigo Ichie, we'd:
The two starters were specials and really really good.
I'd the Ebitan Soba which i thought was fine (didn't blow me away) but wife's main was really good!
Broth, tofu and noodles is what it is. But very well done.
Looks extremely not appetizing. Also, hope that cost you €10 Maximum. Brown water & noodles, and brown water & tofu.
Just finished in Ichigo.. really enjoyed to be fair!
After the disappointment of my first two visits to Ichigo after they re-opened last Jan I tried again just before Christmas and was pleasantly surprised with the improvement in the overall experience. Food has always been excellent I think but the service was a huge problem initially. This seems to have been worked on since and we (group of about 9) all really enjoyed it. The explanation of the dishes has vastly improved (they've put a translated specials menu up now instead of the original Japanese descriptions only version for all those fluent!!). I still think the room needs changing decor wise or layout or something to make it a place I'd go as a couple other than for a quick (but high quality) bite but definitely significant improvement since earlier visits. Having said that, I know others are still not fans and find the menu options limited but I don't think that's the case.
I haven't been in a year either. I'm reluctant to return, to be honest.
I haven't been for almost a year. Soba - freshly made buckwheat noodles - in broth and tofu. They do specials which might include things like duck. I enjoyed it a lot.
Anyone been to ichigo ichie lately?
In Cork this weekend and grabbed a table for Saturday night. Reviews seem mixed.
