I wonder if low stock of M3 is makes way for Highland Stalk Edition.
I actually hope they add those stalks back. I know you get used to them but still….
Are right hand drive Tesla's arriving form Germany or China
..
Model 3 are China. MY were China too but now not so sure. 🤔
People in the UK getting app updates today on delivery of new MY. April 17-June 11.
It means the cars are on the move.
Black and Grey are now the free colours in the model 3 on the UK website. White is extra.
Anyone planning to wrap theirs….
That colour really suits it IMO!
Got the request to sign the SEAI application form yesterday. Hopefully means we’re looking good for May delivery.
That is a routine step and just means that Tesla are getting their preperations, it certainly is not negative but don't read much more into it.
May sounds about right…..
May 2026!
Highland or Juniper ?
Highland RWD stealth grey.
Just got a request for proof of address too. Seems to be moving along now anyway.
Lovely. A fantastic car you won’t be disappointed.
Oh no, I've only gone and ordered a RWD Model Y in Deep Blue 🤪
Selling my 231 LR on Done Deal, getting quite a bit of interest. It's looking like I'll have a gap with no car - if I get a buyer on Done Deal soon, it'll be at least the end of June before the new MY arrives.
Anyone have advice on how to source transport for 6-8 weeks? Rental cars seem to be at least €1,000 for that time period.
Is there a Go Car in your area? Book it as you need it.
I did it a few times while in same situation waiting for a car in January.
Cars weren't the best or the cleanest but they got me from A to B
What about Musk and Trump? 🤔
Is that all old news now?
Thinks he’s buying a car, not trying to form a political allegiance.
I did the research. Test drove other cars. Weighed up the morality versus the experience of being in the car every day for X number of years. And.. didn't find anything as good as the Model Y. So here we are.
Yeah fair play,Musk seems to be keeping a low profile lately - I was a little bit concerned there about my new M3 getting vandalised by some idiot crusader TBH.👍
Buy a cheap banger with an NCT from DD. Use as required for the few weeks/months and sell it on when you get your new car or trade it in to to Tesla for convenience.
Exactly.
if you’ve quite a bit of interest, why not wait to sell it until you have a better handle on an actual delivery date of the new one, and maybe you’d only need something for a week or two?
Me personally, a bird in the hand and all that. Interest today could be nothing next week.
totally - but when you say you’ve quite a bit of interest in a car, you only need to sell to one person and it’s gone.
Is it the white €34k one I wonder? I had the ad saved 😀
I know but my fear, if I was the seller is that the interest/momentum may drop once more and more hit the market and the new shape starts delivering. Then he’s up against it.
I’d buy the cheapest NCT/taxed car on DoneDeal no matter what it was or looked like and budget for it to be scrapped on new car collection. You’d get something for €750-€1000. May even sell it on or throw it into the Tesla trade in for a laugh 😂
Exactly this. Market is changing all the time. There's no guarantee that there will be a pool of buyers available in June.
Thanks for the advice all on getting a banger - it looks like a cheaper option than renting, and who knows - might even be able to sell it again at the end! I think insurance will be the biggest challenge with that option - older cars are expensive to insure. I'll get some quotes.
No matter how high the insurance is, it won’t be much over 7/8 weeks. TP or TP,F&T is all I’d put on a banger. If you don’t travel big distances, a €1500 24kWh Leaf might not be a bad option if you can find one ?
If paying by cash, when you would you guys typically pay the balance due on the car? Got the nod that I’ve been matched to a car and that payment must be sorted at a minimum of 7 days prior to expected delivery. I’m heading away for a week or so shortly so I might get caught on that unless I pay early.
I just fail to see any incentive to pay early when there’s still a chance the boat might sink halfway en route from China. I’ve waited a few months at this stage, if I get delayed by a few days, so be it.
