I have the 1.2L bogballe. Bought new in 2016 for €5k. Pros:

A diesel & oil mix sprayed on after use will prevent the rust. I use a 10ltr garden sprayer to do it after it's power washed.
Fertiliser is hard on metal.
Ive a Rauch here 20 years & zero rust on it
To be honest I'd be expecting the manufacturers to solve it in this day and age. They aren't cheap bit's of kit.
I agree but you'll be waiting or customer won't pay the extra for such a fix
it’s rusting on spots on the outside that fertiliser never gets near.
Paint changed 15 or 20 years ago.
The old stuff worked well.
New stuff I'm told is water based and is very poor.
A few years ago I was spreading slurry for a customer in a 2009 hispec. Customer had a 1985 hispec which had better paint on it than the 2009 machine .

I concur with all of the above. I hate the bogballe that I have for those exact reasons. To be honest we had a vicon wagtail for 40 years and I would rather it to this pile of scrap.

Wouldn’t get a vicon but the likes of a 1250 cosmo or Fleming would be around that money.
I give it a good going over and find I'll get 2 uses out of it before I have to oil again. Does be on often tho so that could be a thing too. Not long between oilings
Iv a 1.5 tonne amazon on a 100 hp case with a loader. I don't really fill it anymore. I think its too heavy and was inclined to bully the tractor on the road. Would have plenty of hills here aswell. Next spreader will be a tonne
Have a 1.25 ton vicon here I bought new 7 years ago..had a bogballe and an amazon before it,but the vicon suit me better as it's alot easier clean,spreads small quantities more accurately as there is only one port instead of 2 on most of the twin disc spreaders which spreading light amount of urea a pain in smaller fields.

Did you have to use a spacer? I did one a few years ago and used one of the old rims' centre as a spacer as the studs were too long.
I did that to my trailer too, it makes it so much easier pulled and easier on the land in bad weather.

No my local puncture repair man brought them out, they fitted straight on. He had it done before I had half the cows milked ( and I don’t have many ) 😃

This had me take a second look. Never seen it done before. Handy to take the buckets and what not around with you. I’m guessing it unhitches when the blade is down. No sign of a 3 point linkage anyway 😬
