Some leaks of the freebies ahead of the release on August 13th. Just trials of various services basically, no free hardware this time sadly.
Finally time to upgrade my Pixel 3A I think, hoping to pick up an 8 variant for a good price once 9 is released and people upgrade.
Traded my P8 against a P9 pro, trade in estimate of €646. DHL collected Tuesday, delivered to PCS Wednesday, checked and verified Thursday. €646 credit already showing on my bank a/c today. Not a bad turn around time wise.
Anybody get one of those 30% off codes? Id be grateful if someone had one spare.
I think that offer didn't include ROI, only UK, USA and France or Germany according to the HUKD thread I saw… Happy to be corrected :-)
Looking at buying the Pro XL on bill pay with Three. I keep finding reasons not to do it since I don't like the idea of going bill pay. Don't want to fork out 1k on prepay.
worth holding out a few weeks? probably black friday deals to be done?
All the good stuff doesn't see much discount on black Friday. Just the crap you don't want.
Hard to just lift the 4x uplift vs 8a on 3prepay for 249
Maybe for your needs, but they are aimed different markets. A-series phones are generally for price conscious consumer, whilst the Pro versions of phones are generally aimed for those who have higher end photo & video needs.
The triple cameras on the 9P XL are significantly better than the 8a. The telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom on the 9P XL is brillant - by far the best camera phone I've had.
hi folks,
anyone ever have an issue where they record video on the pixel pro 9 xl but dont get any audio on the playback? Happened me at the weekend. Never had that before in all my years with an android phone. Restarted it and its fine now but quite annoying all the same.
Cheers,
Mick
Anyone with a Pro or Pro XL have a really bad camera rattle? More than just the normal OIS rattle, this is the kind you can hear and feel picking up the phone. It's working perfectly. I had a repair organised but the deadline was over Christmas and couldn't get it returned.
Since then I've held off going back to them - I don't know if they repair or replace but don't want a half managed repaired phone either at the end of it. Anyone about experience of a Google return?
Just checked mine and it rattles but so did my pro 7 and don't think it makes any difference to performance
Is bill pay a bad idea on a 9 pro XL ?
its probably the most expensive way to get any phone? are you asking re costs or some other reason?
Just interested to get the latest and greatest, Not a fan of contracts. I see some sellers on adverts have it less then 900. Still alot to fork out for a phone in one go.
yep they are not cheap.. same with iphones really (they are more expensive for say a pro max 15)… pay 900 up front and go cheap sim only at 12 euro a month or something or get a contract at 50/60 euro a month and maybe get it free.
I wouldn't say it's a bad idea, just an expensive one that might mean you're stuck with it for 2 years.
Reasonable discounts on Pixel 9 Pro at moment, still not quite as good as trade the in booster at launch for 256gb but the 128 is okay value if you can live with the storage. For a phone I'll keep long term it's not really enough. Have only 26gb free at moment on my pixel 6. Offering €79 for an old 4a I have here. Must boot it up and see if I'm eligible for store credit on it. Another 100 I might be tempted.
Any reason why they won't take a pixel 8a as trade in?
Because its the latest release in the A-Series. Can only get trade ins on superseded models.
Better deals actually from Amazon
Black 128GB Pro €890 delivered from Germany, mentions free case not sure if it's working.
Hazel and Black 256GB €1023.50 from Spain.
Big sale on at the moment on the pixel store and even better if you go through Amazon.

Pixel 9 Pro 128gb is 749 + delivery with the €100 off applied.
What does everyone think is a fair price for Pixel 9 Pro 256gb? Tried it out for a couple of weeks. Just not for me!
Anyone any recommendations on what charger to use with the pixel 9 pro?
i have the google one…
Use any decent branded one. Google first choice. Ugreen & Anker are good choices also.
Anyone using the 9 pro fold?
Im tempted to buy one just to try out whole folding phone thingy - would like to hear from someone actually using one as their daily phone.
do you still have this?
nah since sold.
just a quick query.
I use tunein radio app with a speaker in my office. From time to time I see missed calls from numbers not in my phone book, with it saying missed call, do not disturb. I do not have 'do not disturb' turned on. Any ideas on this ?
Random question. Just wondering if everyone is having this issue.
When I try to pay for something with google pay, the phone asks me to for my fingerprint again, even though my phone is already unlocked. Is this normal?
