Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Its use is almost entirely restricted to those who lack empathy yet criticise those that display it. Not a stance I'd ever take.
For people to state support for Palestine yet not go on matches is fine by me. For many work, children, travel and other demands may prevent it. The support is what's important.
She is indeed, I wouldn't know many songs bar the two major ones, I remember seeing a clip where she was at Lolapolooza and played to near 100k people,
Yeah I'm happy with it in fairness was fearing the worst it's luck of the draw buying without seeing the lineup
And just like that, a comedy gig in May has been moved to the Ambassador.
Big Country Irish dates (on the —>)
More than a embarrassing that they continue to play gigs after the last year tbh, should’ve packed it in.
Wow, great poster !
A take on the Ophelia painting by Millais .
Some prople will , some people won't I guess .
Depends on how strongly you feel about their politics and how much you like the music.
I can handle differing political views as long as they don't use their concerts to advertise them .
Abusers no though .
Thought they were excellent in Monroe's doing The Crossing eighteen months ago. Far from the original but with two original members nor are they a covers band. Great sound and humour from a decent bunch of lads.
When it was Mark and Bruce it was fine but in the last year they split up, had constant lineup changes and there are now two different Big Country's (this one playing here later in the year, which literally has a singer from a tribute band, and Mark Brezickis Big Country)
So sort of 2 little countries then. Disappointing.
Amble teasing an announcement for Monday, my guess is a 3Arena show?
it’s aslan playing malahide castle lawn area.
Holly Johnson went on sale this morning, as of a few minutes ago only has standing tickets left. Any chance of a second date I wonder.
Not too many seats at Vicar Street, and I guess we don't know how many standing tickets left.
If I recall correctly, the last time he played was at the National Concert Hall, I think that sold well. I think Vicar is a bit bigger, so might be risky to add a second date.
I occasionally use the term myself.
I don’t use it to disparage people for being compassionate and tolerant. I think the vast majority of us, including me, are kind and respectful in our own quiet and unshowy way. I use those words to qustion the latter-day Pharisees and Puritans who shout their own perceived sanctimony from the rooftops in an attempt to look morally superior to others. The first paragraph of your post is a classic example of such holier-than-thou pontificating
it
Refused for Olympia Oct 5th
sparks doing two nights at the stadium
Spot on. Cringeworthy, pontificating from your man.
They're going to play.
They're going to sing.
They're going to look great.
Virtue signalling is a perjorative term originating from the far right intended to demean liberals and lefties. It's used as justification to attack people who express egalitarian views, particularly with respect to race, gender, sexuality, etc. Socio-political areas that unfortunately still need defending in 2025.
Successive referenda have displayed the liberal values at play in this country, clearly demonstrating that people are willing to act to changed tired old legislation. Support for Palestine and anti-war demonstrations against all conflicts is not simply taking the form of lip service but attestable action.
You seem not to understand Pharisees and Puritans is you're comparing religious cults of yore to the liberal-left activists of today.
Ya don't want to do anything to change the state of things? Fine. Your prerogative. But don't excuse your lethargy or indifference to attack others who do.
What's the set up for gigs in the national stadium?
I've only ever been for Boxing and Pro Wrestling events (for which it is a fantastic venue)
The flat level where the ring and some seats normally live will either be rows of seats pointed to the stage or all seats (and ring obvs.) removed in that location for standing.
standing area is where the ring is set up
While you know next to nothing about me, you are very quick to dismiss me and my opinions.
How very tolerant and inclusive
As we've both had our says and presumably neither of us wishes to fill the board up with a never-ending argument I respectfully suggest we end things here.
Anyone know when the tickets are going on sale?

Nope. Say what you want, but don't always expect it to go unchallenged, especially if you pejoratively refer to others.
