When I first looked at it I thought that they built it like that because of a small budget, but then I saw the brickwork in the ceiling inside, so now I don't know what to think.

I really like that place, like the fact it's not choc full of clutter and you can move around the space you paid for.
Think the fireplace in the hall is a folly alright and I'd be swapping the snooker table for a pool table.
It looks like red cedar cladding, no need for varnish.
It's not the same. Cedar cladding doesn't need any varnish and is in no way the same as gearbox oil "bollocks".
Well it’s been in there 20 years and has never had a coat of varnish, doesn’t look much like gear oil to me.
Cedar shingle rooves have a lifespan of 30+ years, that’s on the roof. The cedar on that house is on the walls so will last a lot longer.
I walk past that house most Fridays, beach side.
There’s no barrier from the sea to protect the garden, it’s the only house on that row without one.
Going to drop sometime soon.
Strangely taken with this property, including the interiors which isn’t usually the type of thing that appeals to me.
Could be that it’s because it seems a bit familiar as I believe it’s been in a few tv shows.
I also find it strangely appealing, even though I don't much like the caravan shape of the outside, the patchwork timber curve of the interior ceiling or the rather overwhelmingly open plan design - it looks nice but I would not like to live in that much open plan. And yet I still like it.

Bit of a price drop in 4 years
The cream gloss tiles literally everywhere, even in the bedrooms, are bad. Tiles are for kitchens and bathrooms, imo.
But some of the other spaces are beautiful.
I think that has been up here recently enough. Clearly still not selling!
10,000sqm house, you'd want a tribe to fill that and not make it feel empty.
Probably not applicable in this situation, but there was another house in that locality that was for sale and then re-emerged for sale again at a lower asking price. Turns out they had sold off the substantial garden and then offered the house for sale again at a modest discount!
Literally nothing about that house appeals to me, except for the views.
For €7m it's a small site as well - neighbours in Stoneleigh Manor are on top of you
I think it would be better with the right furniture and decor to make full use of the space, though a few of the bedrooms do seem rather oversized, in that typical "BIGGER MEANS POSHER, AND I WANT ALL THE POSH!" McMansion fashion.
The front elevation really bothers me, and I'm not sure exactly why. The windows feel too small in proportion to the mass. I think the quoining and the trim being almost the same colour as the wall is part of the problem; makes the whole thing look like one giant beige blob without any contrast to give it a better sense of proportion.
Also, tile floors in the bedrooms (and literally everywhere else except the one parlour and the attic)…eugh. I'm sure it's warm and all with the underfloor heating, but it still looks cold and uninviting.
Overall it's a pretty nice Neo-Georgian new build, though. I wouldn't want a place that big myself, but if I did, I wouldn't mind it.

It does look nice inside, at least, and you can't beat the views. I wouldn't want to be having a barbecue on whichever day the back third of the garden is inevitably reclaimed by the sea, though.

Also, pic 37/38 single bedroom with windows on both sides? Or is one side no longer a window.
With all that land attached, I could see a developer buying that.
The ad says the house is Protected Status so you would have to find another way into the site to develop it.
Having spent a some time there, I don't think Banagher is on the map of many developers…
That is a loved house - not in amazing condition, but loved. The back area is fascinating.
