Finally happened. Wonder will we still get same bargains as UK site??
Indeed.. in order to probably compare, you need to retain the ASIN..
UK = £1649 / ~ €2000
IE = €2289
They appear to be different models though, e.g. the CPU.
How would they do that? Its been possible to buy from any version of amazon since it was started, the only way to theoretically do it is to block any and all deliveries to Irish addresses unless using amazon.ie which would be an insane move and would just piss people off instead of make them use it.
This is massive difference!
Seems to depend on what you're buying. e.g. :
ASUS Zenbook DUO UX8406C 14.0" 3K 400nits 120Hz OLED Touchscreen Laptop (Intel Core Ultra 9 285H, 32GB RAM, 2TB PCi G4 SSD, Dual Screen, Windows 11) Ships with Soft Keyboard : Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories
@ £2099 = €2510 approx but on the .IE site:
ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 OLED UX8406MA 14.0" 120Hz 3K Dual-OLED Touchscreen Laptop (Intel Core Ultra 9-185H, 32 GB RAM, 2 TB SSD, Detachable Keyboard, Windows 11) Intel EVO Certified : Amazon.ie: Electronics
= €2289 But both beaten by .DE
ASUS Zenbook Duo OLED UX8406CA | 14 Inch WUXGA 16:10 OLED Display | 16 GB RAM | 1 TB SSD | Intel Core i9 | Intel Arc | Windows 11 | QWERTZ Keyboard | Inkwell Grey: Amazon.de: Computer & Accessories
= €2099 and Spain
ASUS ZenBook OLED UX8406MA-PZ255W – Laptop 14 Inches 3K 120Hz (Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, ARC Graphics, Windows 11 Home) Tintero Grey – Spanish QWERTY Keyboard : Amazon.es: Computers
= €1957
I notice when browsing the amazon.ie site that a lot of products have accompanying photos etc with German text. Would appear there is a lot of localising to be completed as yet.
So my order got split into 6 different shipments and the first one is on its way with UPS from Italy!
Seriously, no wonder it was days out for delivery rather than 2 days.
Any idea why shipping time on items that say they're dispatched from Amazon.ie is about 9 days? Whereas items that say dispatched from Amazon.co.uk is 2 days?
Was it you asking about the stool sample containers? They have a 30 piece pack now for £7 - different sizes https://www.amazon.co.uk/Containers-Specimen-Plastic-Collection-Laboratory/dp/B0CZRYF3PC/ref%3Dsr_1_5?crid=2LE1E0O8EAFN7&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.xyH6TgsJ2GtFkotM1p4mFImwQcCLk9m1thO5ByOv0ETu3Zr2bteSdvOCF-ShVfl60_rTBwg225qX899gdz7Kw9FOr9NhewmGOjkxrHiG8KZa7w2v5Qqa5ZA0NSZHGEdPuoHEdlLt73aGelaSoQQDnyWHQZo2K4-JQeOR-ROmaszEW_zkDd0IkfTrZmwLsN6BnvpDVZUtxphFkBsBiusta8LZjoHK5ll974-8TvYeWvqg0RdsPQIL-AF5VjXu9Ppc5su7OiTP_PWhMjPZCO3-F9GrJt74VFkx5LM9dDokjtkTy2O66ZZDJTro0gkqUuTjdhZ7AMdu2ovZpbqpxwWaugrPhoojyfkAm-hCdln7hJJHd4qhQNpx0r3F-62h2F-9UoKe3-zV7EEPAaxqchijtiv_7bbzsziL9F6-V5foF5GCbTKFcMaq_Bjg2FexpQsR.qJS-ebVSBqRyb47ZPP70ZSEUEYuhwP_bYaliYxzhizk&dib_tag=se&keywords=stool+sample&qid=1742803278&sprefix=stool+sample%2Caps%2C72&sr=8-5
Are they allowed to discriminate against child prodigys?

I was more thinking of appliances than chargers and stuff, should have made that clearer! The likes of air fryers, dehumidifiers and such like.
Last phone I got from .de came with a charger with integrated plug. No rewiring or cutting to solve that!
Not exactly this one, but something like it: -
Solved it with buying this from .co.uk. Also charge my lenovo chrome duet with it!
Fine for a cheapo device, but for anything else I'd use a converter at least until the warranty runs out.
by stopping you from buying from any npn irish amazon site
just put an order in for a hair clippers on UK for €18, had a look at IE and its €30. How do they expect the new IE site to take off with pricing like that "switch for improved shopping experience", yeah tell me another.
Placed an order with Amazon IE last Thurs (not Prime - using first order free) and del was "31st March". They are arriving tomorrow to Mayo. Weirdly the last two orders I've placed on the UK site have had a listed 2 day delivery to Mayo, but list 3 days to Galway city. Normally there is no difference.
Well I have lost Prime delivery (2 days) down here in Cork for the stuff that I usualy buy from Amazon.
Everything I am looking for says "Prime" but nothing next day, all is now out at least 7-9 days.
Swapping back for the same items to the .co.uk side shows 2 days delivery on prime.
Tried different variants of the address, the office address down in the City and no luck.
Entered a random Dublin address and voila delivery next day or 2 days out.
And while I have found some of my regular articles slightly cheaper on .ie than on .de with the shipping cost from Germany, most of my .uk stuff is more expensive in Ireland.
So slower and more expensive, fantastic!
I can find some "Get in 2 days" items when I search for them on .ie but none of my regular items are there.
A lot of the stuff I bought had the leads wired into the item so a plug change was the only option without opening it up and rewiring it!
I'd just throw the old lead in the bin because I have loads of different leads squirreled away after throwing old tech away.
Am I the only one who just cuts the 2 pin plug off and wires it into a 3 pin plug, problem sorted.
They're the same design yes and are better than the below design as it holds the pins more securely:
What's worse is people using shaving adapters for more powerful mains devices.
But my point is that the ones on Amazon are direct from Chinese brands and more than likely do not meet the safety standards we have in Ireland and the UK. I've seen chargers on Amazon come with figure of 8 leads that have a tiny plug on them which does not meet British Standards.
My rule of thumb when buying any Chinese mains powered equipment from aliexpress or Amazon is to bin the lead that comes with it and use one I have saved from old equipment.
Hello.
I bought a Dell monitor about 2 months ago (Dell U2723QE). For curiosity, I have just checked the price on both the UK and Ireland sites.
The UK price is £439.97. And , surprise, surprise, the price on the Irish site €853.35!! Totally outrageous.
Doesn't approve
^^ That's exactly the same stuff I linked to, just white, not black. If you go .co.uk route with the adapters I linked to, you'd also see white ones over there. Doesn't really matter Irish seller or not, all that garbage is made in China anyway. :-P
I bought these very ones recently, and I have to admit these are the best made UK to EU mains adapters I ever used.
I wouldn't trust that Chinesium with mains powered equipment, especially high wattage stuff.
I get mine and mains cables from this Irish seller, they have great prices on kettle leads etc.. also and shipping was low the last time I used them.
Mine has more detail. Wait until Monday
Is anyone able to see detailed tracking history for their orders? For all of mine, I only see the dispatch step.
Even stuff off amazon UK will be sold be Amazon EU SARL
Haha, that's not the point. Products sold on Amazon.ie should be fully compatible out of the box. I've been on to them over chat and they are saying it will be fine but I can see it is sold by Amazon.ie and shipped from Amazon EU Sarl so I'm skeptical.
Lets see…
