Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
that’s wrong. The guarantee for oasis is in the millions per show, that’s already been paid over by the promoters to oasis agent/manager who uses it fund the tour costs. within the contracts there is clawback of oasis don’t show up. a week after the concert the ticketing company IE Ticketmaster pays over the ticket revenue to promoter. Promoter does settlement with agent outlining the costs/profit for the show and the agreed % to promoter. Difference between guarantee and oasis profit will be then paid over to settle it all.
Diminishing returns for Oasis 😂😂😂 I want what you’re on lol Has Glastonbury not been a fallow year in 26 it could well have lined up that they would have headlined then as they will almost definitely be touring Europe and doing more UK shows then.
Some gigs you can pretty much get free tickets the day of or day before. Bon Jovi in the RDS a couple of years ago was the highest profile one I can remember.
Haha that's me and my oh !
Mortified by his snoring beside me at various events so I get standing wherever I can !
there is a 35% discount offer for it, so that’s a discount offer
diminishing returns as in they can’t keep do stadiums every year, especially at the prices they were charging. Too popular for arena shows and that capacity doesn’t make sense financially for them. Only so much money they can extract from people. And no chance of Glastonbury, they want money. They aren’t going to play shows for peanuts.
You can't have it both ways, if its all about money then their solo careers are over (Liams solo career was just Oasis lite anyway & unless Gallagher Squire tickets are much cheaper than in 2024 and the music much better, that's not going anywhere fast) and Oasis will be touring every so often.
My Chemical Romance got back together in 2019 and with regards to press it was similar in that they did none. Everybody assumed new material was a certainty then but lo and behold 6 years later and nothing substantial has happened. The point being while you may assume what will happen, in reality you have no idea what the plans are beyond this year and some likely gigs next year. It being about money does not make it a fact that they won't be recording new material etc. which we just saw both Red Hot Chill Peppers and blink 182 do.
Liams Definitely Maybe gig was better than any Oasis gig I ever saw.
I think it's pretty obvious the Oasis reunion is just about the money, Liam was doing fairly well with Oasis lite, Noel Gallagher was fairly stagnant let's be honest and the divorce has come and the band has gotten back together, he's been pretty open that if the money is of a certain amount the bands getting back on the road and it has,
Same with GnR, Slash has a big divorce band gets back together make a tonne of money and they tour indefinitely, any big reunion is about the money end of, it's not for the love of the music or that, it's strictly about the money and can you put up with being beside these lads for 1.5-2hrs a night and get paid,
At the end of the day, aren't all tours at that level just about maximizing as much money as possible out of people/fans, I mean price of tickets have gone up exponentially, residencies to reduce travel costs, merch being limited edition and overpriced, more or less same setlists every night, cheap support, dynamic pricing,
You just have to decide do you want to partake, there's plenty of smaller acts out there
of course there will be
Without new music it’s the same show over and over again
It’ll be one tour, maybe 2, and cheers for the cash bye
it’s about money in sense that time was ripe for reunion, make a ton of money in 2025 and possibly 2026. Noel makes another boatload selling his rights which has appreciated in value with reunion hype. Maybe a new oasis album will be released in next year. But do I think noel/Liam will still be touring the oasis greatest hits show in 2027/2028 probably not. I’m sure both are happy to reconvene for a while and then back and do new music for themselves.
Agent gets 15%, management 20%.
Rubbish, absolute rubbish.
Why would Oasis spend 35% of the tour gross on admin. 140-200m.
Just plucking numbers out of thin air.
Spot on.
And once people have experienced Oasis greatest hits once, there's little reason to shell out mega money to see it again.
Especially if the performances are as dogshit as they were throughout most of the 2000s up until they broke up.
"Hello /checks notes/ Springfield. Are ya mad fer it?"
Another round of stadiums in 2026 to cash in on the demand is possible, assuming they can be arsed, keep it together on this tour, and really want the money.
I’m not plucking numbers out of the air. These are the standard commission rates for agents and managers in the music business. Managers get 20% of an artist gross income and agencies get 10-15% of artists live show fees. These are similar rates across all such fields from sports to film.
yet another LATM show
Something happening on the 8th and 28th of June in Dreamland Ballroom, same venue as Johnny Marr last year and Bob Geldof this year
Picture This?
the horrors
genuinely could be, would be a great little homecoming gig, although idk if they’ve gotten to big to want to bother with here anymore
Tbf they're whole Irish tour during the summer are smaller shows like Galway arts festival etc so probably do these intimate ones before a bigger tour
Are they big enough for the NS these days?
Tivoli in 2017 was last Dublin show in 2017, academy before that. Stadium a stretch I think. Don’t think fan base has grown in the years since
Sleeper and Self Esteem gigs announced today 😁
Loved Sleeper back in the day. Will be down the front at the Academy 😎
Same! Don't think I've ever seen them live
Loved Sleeper or Loved Louise? I think that was an unresolved conundrum for my pals and I back in 1995.
Bingo.
I'd be hoping for something a lot more imaginative.
Louise's memoir, Different for Girls - which was regrettably republished with the awful title, "Just For One Day: Adventures in Britpop" - is excellent.
Are the bulk of the outdoor summer gigs announced by now? Bar maybe a few more Collins Barracks gigs think most have announced at this stage
