Rory, like most pros, would say that a lot over any given event. Nothing really unusual there. This was just one of those times a hot mic was on the broadcast and caught it perfectly. You nearly need Lowry and Hatton on permanent mute or 10s delay for obvious reasons.
What a shot by Rory .
An 8 iron into last is hard to understand.
Rory with a very audible F*** bomb after he missed a relatively straight forward birdie putt on the 12th.
"How the f*** did it go right?!"
Very unusual for Rory to do that. That's more like Shane.
tom down to play I see. Who’s paying his fines
Going to the Irish Open on Saturday for the first time. Where do others that have been before recommend are good spots on the course for viewing? Also do many people bring their own chairs?
How on earth did he think he had a chance of a pick? A T4 in Macau this year? T12 in last years US Open is pretty good in fairness, but you'd want a hell of a lot more than that to be even considered.
Sergio didn't get picked for Bethpage so he's taking his ball home and not playing Thursday.
So Harrington, Lowry and mcilroy out in 3 groups in a row tomorrow. Rest of course be empty outside of these
Don't know but won't suit the Mac, pace of play will be awful.
Out in 3s at the Scottish, is that tied to the weather?
Couple of kids at the top of the Italian Open look very impressive. Couvra from France and Ayora from Spain in particular. 22 and 20 years old. Bright futures ahead of both.
Sad reflection on the state of the DPWT (European) Tour these days. As of 13:25 Friday, of the 80 players currently inside the projected cut line in the Italian Open, only four are exempt for Portrush. The top two not exempt will get invites on Sunday.
I followed Morrison years ago at the Irish Open, his short game was phenomenal, got up and down from absolutely everywhere. Surprised he hasn't won more.
Hopefully better days to come for him. And young Tiernan after yesterday.
Unfortunately Kennedy bogeyed the playoff hole and loses to a par.
Kennedy is into a playoff with James Morrison. Kennedy finished with a double bogey, Morrison had a bogey. Their final score of -6 makes the opening round of 60 more remarkable. Morrison has 2 wins on the European tour, albeit back in 2010 and 2015.
Starts bogey, triple 🙄
Garcia and Reed have got a line for bmw in Germany in a few weeks
Tom McKibbin 2 years ago, but I agree with the sentiment!
Hopefully he can go on and win, been ages since last time we had an Irish win on the European tour outside of Mcllroy or Lowry
I'm with you in this. I don't even watch the European tour anymore as it seems there's some of these cretins playing every week.
Shot a 60 in the end. Dermot McElroy started 2 (eagle), 10.
Max Kennedy is -10 through 16 on the Challenge tour. The par is 70 so a birdie & a par needed for a 59. There are just 2 par 5s on the course and he eagled both of them.
🤣🤣🤣
No win for Tom. A run of bogey, par, bogey on par 4,5,5 run this race
Regardless of what people think of his decision to move to LIV it was a great round by Tom. Im sure it annoys the journeymen of the DP tour though to see this lad who has banked a few million already this year to turn up and eat their lunch.
I see he's tied for the lead now. Before going to LIV I'd have tried to watch the end of the comp if he was still in contention. Now I hope he collapses. The further down he tumbles the better.
McKibbin on the time sheet this week
Another good start for Liam in South Africa, 3 under par first round tied 5th. 39 under for 9 rounds, brilliant stuff.
Great start of the season for Nolan on challenge tour. Well on his way for a tour card
