I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.

My ex and her mate (both theatre goers) were at that and thought the complete opposite. 'Atrocious' they said, couldn't believe the press reviews and reception it got on the night.

Funny, isn't it? I recommended it to two friends when it went to London and they didn't get it either. My wife and I were both dumbstruck at the end of though, not only the best piece of theatre I've ever seen but I think I'd put it above anything I've ever seen on stage (and you know I love my gigs)
Strange how different people can see the same thing and have such different reactions, guess it's what keeps us interesting though!
In 'gigs that are not selling well' news, it really looks like the PlayStation - the Concert gig hasn't sold at all and its a month away.
Tickets are still available in pairs in the 6th row of the flat seating and the third row of tiered seating. I wonder if it'll go ahead with that level of take-up.
My current contender for "best theatre ever seen" is John Lithgow in Giant, which I saw in the Royal Court last autumn, and which is transferring to the Harold Pinter Theatre at the end of April. Phenomenal.
They had an offer for St Patrick's weekend, 30% or 40% off the ticket price. Felt a bit ambitious for 3Arena.
In other news, New Purple Celebration, the Prince tribute band, are coming for a gig at National Stadium on 12th September, as part of their final tour. I saw them at the Button Factory the last time they were here and found them really good, so I'll probably go again.

It is definitely an interesting one, Jodie Comer at the Gaiety. I have heard great things about her and the play.
One of my most memorable experiences was Waiting for Godot with Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart many years ago. They were so good, especially McKellen.
Was universally lauded everywhere it played - Galway then Dublin, London & Brooklyn. The 7/8 people I know who caught it were all enormously impressed. Simply a matter of taste. No accounting for it. I know a few people who hate MBV. Unfathomable.

The Pogues show last December was supposedly selling badly but not many 'freebies' were going around and it was a decent crowd in the end

The last play I went to, The Mousetrap, in the Gaiety. I was gone within 5 minutes. My ribs were so sore afterwards. 🙄😂
I was blown away by Pillowman by Martin McDonough which I saw on 2 different runs in the Gaiety - recommend to anyone if it comes around again. In fact I've not yet seen anything he's written that I haven't loved.
I hate McDonagh but I "enjoyed" Pillowman when we saw it last year. (if "enjoyed" is the correct word for it!)
I saw an outdoor production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream last year by the Lyric in Belfast and it was the most joyous piece of theatre I've ever seen.
Hamilton is still the best musical there is though. I'll fight anyone who dares to disagree.

Sorry late response but the servers did crash, I and many other people couldn’t get into any of the queues for most of the UK dates.
Neither Noel or Liam have commented on the current state of Oasis nor have they done any press concerning it since, so unless you’ve got them on speed dial, you’re just speculating. For example nobody has any clue whether or not they will be recording new material. It being at least somewhat money oriented doesn’t make it a fact that this is one and done.
Plus if it’s solely money then it makes no sense at all to go back to solo careers and Oasis will just hit the road every few years instead.
From a brief look at the UK dates it looks like they have reduced the prices to boost sales.
For Dublin it looks like they are still charging full whack.
Irish promoters never seem to drop prices or do 2 for 1 offers. Discounts are usually hidden away, "the whole industry especially in Ireland is built on favours" or who you know , isnt that right FanIrish.

Make millions, receive adoration and go back to John squire Collabs or psych guitar projects

Its no surprise that Noel gains control of the Oasis back catalogue this year, the same year he decided to reunite. $$$$$$$$$$

maybe the tour will generate £350/400m at the very most. It’s 41 nights.
Oasis looking at €4m -€5m a night minimum on average. That’s €200m guarantee . Agent gets 15%, managers get 20%. HRMC getting anywhere between 20-50% depending on how they pay themselves. Then each of the band member will be getting a few million and noel/Liam split the remainder. I’m sure noel/Liam will make tens of millions from it

I don’t know if I believe they’ve actually made up but there is no greater motivator for these men than the almighty dollar (or pound in their case)
They discussed this on an old episode of the rest is entertainment podcast. They said that for tours like that a company is set up and generally speaking the promoter will pay an advance to the artists, and then as they play each gig they get paid for that gig more or less immediately. The company then pays out to all hired staff (roadies, caterers, transport, the artists themselves, etc) on whatever agreed rates.
They suggested that for Oasis and with their history the advance they get will be tiny due to the risk. So they'll get paid as they do the gigs, if they pull out they don't get paid. The promoter would likely be on the hook for any extra payments needed if a gig was cancelled.
