So I benched a few games on the Powercolor reaper 9070XT vs a reference 6900XT using a 5800X3D.
In ray tracing it's night and day, in older DX11/12 games it's more of a mixed bag.
Performance in Robocop is encouraging because it's UE5 and many upcoming games will use it.
CS2 actually slightly regresses in performance, so hopefully some driver fine wine will address that in the future, but it's something to be wary of if your buying the card primarily for online gaming.
Going to test FSR4 in ratchet and clank later and delve into optiscaler when I get time.
My nitro came today :)
messing around with overclocks and the nitro+ xt is matching the overclocked asus tuf 7900xtx score i was getting, nitro has a graphics score of 33,125 and the best i got from the xtx was 33,340
Amazon must have gotten a big delivery in because I've just gotten an email to say my Pure is being delivered in Wednesday. Was originally due the end of April.
Same!
I'm still in two minds about keeping it.
Ordered a 42" LG C4 yesterday that'll be used as a monitor/TV in the office now so didn't plan on spending so much this week.
Only thing is I can sell my FE 3080 and 2x LG 144Hz 1440P monitors and recoup some of the money.
Yeah I'll be putting some Noctua fans as well as my 3080 FE up for sale too.
CEX still has them valued at 356 cash / 414 credit so I think ~450eur should be doable.
There's a few listed on Adverts for less at the moment and they don't seem to be shifting.
I think the 7090 XT should pair well with my 5700X3D and do a decent job at 4K to see a benefit on the C4 but like I said I don't want to be paying out to much.
Maybe €375 for the 3080 and €275 for the two monitors would soften the blow 🤔
Fingers crossed I'll get an email for my Nitro+
I'd be shifting any second hand GPUs fast. 9060/9050 details are going to savage that market. A 9060XT with 16GB at €500 is going to have cascading effects before it's even released. And that doesnt even cover the backlog of older generation cards. I'm seeing a 7700XT for €419 on Amazon DE already and that's only going one way. Edit: Actually, it might be simpler to just go to your nearest CEX and get the €356 into your hand. For GPUs they'll do it there and then as long as it's not visably damaged. You might do a little better on Advert and you might not. Bird in the hand and all that. And I'm expecting CEX to update their pricing soon enough so don't hang about.
9070xt pairs well so far with the C4 on my end, lossless scaling frame gen is amazing for getting a constant 144hz at 4k with little to no visual artifacts that I can see
I'll be happy enough with 60 FPS locked at 4K. In more demanding ones I'd probably drop to 40 FPS if needed.
Tried FSR 4 injected with Optiscaler on Robocop Rogue City. It's really good, not perfect, but a massive improvement on FSR 3. Switching between the two FSR 4 is far sharper, more detailed and doesn't suffer anywhere near as much image corruption or flickering. There is still some noticeable sparkling on the street textures in the opening map, but it's not constantly moving like old CRT static as in FSR 3.
Performance (or even ultra performance) is usable on FSR 4, while anything below Quality on FSR 3 looks terrible. Unfortunately the random crashes between scene transitions seem worse than before. Not sure if this is due to the 9070XT, Optiscaler, framegen or maxing out the settings. It's a really buggy game.
My Sapphire Puke arrived anyway.
Just ordered a Gigabyte Radeon 9070 OC (non XT version) for £523.02 / €624.65 delivered to Ireland from AWD-IT in the UK after it popped up on HotUKDeals.
Postage was £22 included in the total above and it's sold out now.
Is that a decent price?
They had the XT version for £539.03 excluding shipping and possibly a bit more VAT to Ireland also but it was sold out quickly.
I think I'll prefer the efficiency of the non XT version.
They have a 7900XT 20GB for £503.74 excluding shipping and the extra VAT also:

Just got an email that it's a pricing error! Bastards! 😅
"Pricing error" and cancelled order is unsurprising as otherwise it's basically MSRP with €5 shipping so I had started to wonder if they weren't charging VAT and you would get stung with it on import. It shouldn't be too good to be true (especially if the $ MSRP accounts for at least the first 10% tariff which imho it should but I suspect it doesn't) but right now I'd only believe it with the card in my hand :(
I kinda wish I knew the relevant law on if they could in theory at least be made to stand over the price because it is a plausible price, I know there are situations where things can be different when it comes to say a £250.00 5090 where clearly someone misplaced a 0 or decimal point.
That's BELOW the UK MSRP of 569 GBP! sorry, misread as XT. But very close to launch MSRP of 525 GBP
My Sapphire Puke arrived at my dad's; hope there's nothing wrong with it.
I recorded my box opening just in case. Packing materials were seriously lacking in the brown box as well.
I ordered that 7900XT before it sold out and got an email saying it's a pricing error also!
Ah well, I think I'll wait a little longer until the cards fall to MSRP.
There's 9070 Pulse on Amazon for £560. Not sure if that's meant to be one of the MSRP cards though. But a bit higher than the one you tried to buy.

Haha I was eyeing that up in the meantime and thanks for sending it anyway.
I think I'll wait it out and try to snatch a bargain however long that could take! 😁
Anyone know how long caseking deliveries take? I paid extra for dpd and they received it last Friday but haven’t had an update since Tuesday morning where it’s still in some German depot.
I usually find DPD quite fast. Have you tried the the tracking number on DPD Ireland in case it's transferred to a separate system after leaving Germany?
Yeah they're usually fast for me too which is why I'm worried now.
I have, there's no updates other than saying the parcel was 'collected' last Friday, but nothing about it being in Ireland yet.
I saw the Powercolor reaper was in stock yesterday from Amazon @ £699 + Irish VAT. 9070 XT's seem to be dropping in and out of stock regularly, but the prices are still creeping up.
The 9070 seems to be more widely available but is now at or more expensive than the 9070 XT launch prices.
It takes about a week for me. But saying that, I would get updates of its last destination before it would leave for Ireland and not get any updates until there was a knock on the door from DPD. It's happened good few times. But I would be in contact with them after 5 working days.
As mentioned above I've seen the 9070 non xt pure versions pop up on amazon frequently for around 680~ e delivered, cheapest by far I've seen for that version. I've seen a tonne of Nitro+ xt cards going for 800e delivered on amazon also. Best of both worlds would be finding the purext pop up at RRP but it seems very hard to come across.
Hmm seeing the MSI 5070 ti pop up a lot now for a little over €900, dunno if I should cancel my €840 Nitro+ pre order and go for that instead.
