Finally happened. Wonder will we still get same bargains as UK site??
can you keep your account on Amazon uk and go between uk and ie. Or is it one or the other
"That is not, however, the full story. After proceeding to the checkout on the UK site and when all the customs and other charges were added to the total and converted to euro, it came it at €558.42 compared to €511.19 when bought off the .ie site"
Well you exposed yourself combining multiple items as Customs charge kicks in above €150. Order the items individually and you'll avoid that pitfall.
You can switch back and forth if needed. I believe, I think I may have done so for checking on orders from .de or somewhere else before!
Ordered a PS5 game this evening using their €10 discount code, it quoted a copy from "amazon ie" for €57.12 and a copy from "amazon uk" for €59.45 so a small saving but the ie copy will take 9 days to deliver through prime while the uk copy would only take 3.
Anyone know why that might be?
I wonder will Amazon Ireland eventually have Amazon Hubs (pick up points) like in the UK? Handy if your not at home to receive a parcel.
Yes, if it ships from the UK.
Do you still get free delivery from the UK site if you switch prime over to the Irish site, or are you effectively locking yourself into the .ie site? Looks like a nice saving in switching prime over and I don't use family or reading which seems to be the only drawbacks people keep mentioning. Went through my most recent few purchases and prices were pretty much identical between the two, a euro one way or another here and there, seems to be a direct currency conversion with a bit of rounding.
Maybe, no and yes.... 😂
Just checking Irish prices on some items I purchased on the UK site. Absolute ripoff. Hopefully we're not forced to move prime onto the .ie site.

From the above link.
Above €150 yes
If you switch, you lose free delivery from Amazon UK. You should still be able to purchase Amazon UK Prime (effectively having Prime Ireland and Prime UK) until such a time as they no longer include Ireland for free delivery from the UK site. I moved over to monthly Prime payments solely for this reason, as my yearly Prime just finished there. If you have no Amazon UK Prime, there's a £35 min order value (items fullfilled via Amazon) to qualify for free delivery to Ireland. Again, I'm not sure how long that will remain.
One item I bought this week is 540 on the IE site, 35 euro cheaper on the UK site, 70 euro cheaper on the German site
So even with import duties the IE site is still a rip off with the pricing
That is the same item, but two different sellers.
Just had a quick look ….. You can't buy kindle books on the irish site.
I wonder if we might see some Irish producers / retailers of alcohol set up shop - should be easier on an .ie site for Irish sales.
Bout bloody time
That's why I like it
I was checking out some 4TB External Transcend Hard Drives I usually buy from Amazon.de. They are €137 each on the .de site (with aporox €15 shipping the last time I bought a few). They are just over €200 each on the .ie site, so no change for where I'll be buying :-)
I just looked at some Phillips Shaver cleaner, which was a little cheaper on the ie site.
However, at present, they lack the range of items. On the UK site you could always get a wide range of small items, USB cables etc on the "deals". This is not yet true of the Irish site.
Seems like there are some really strange prices on it. Perhaps some kind of teething problems or it's not ranking things correctly, but when you see a box of dishwasher tablets for €100 there's something definitely not quite right.
When the price is abnormally high it usually means the item is out of stock or discontinued
Just seen you cant share prime benefits within a family group on the Irish site which is a deal breaker for me, won't be switching unless that changes
Whenever I go into Amazon UK, I get a message asking me to switch to Prime Ireland. How do I stop this appearing?
As far as I can see, Amazon.ie is a poor relation. Quite a few items in my basket are more expensive on .ie and others don't appear.
Yes and if those individual retailers set themselves up as a business in NI instead of ROI they should be able to avoid having to charge MUP
Currently €41 for 3 boxes of Barry's Gold Blend delivered so I wouldn't hold out much hope of it being cheaper than the local corner shop
No your .ie will work to sign into Kindle on the .co.uk website . Amazon have a FAQ section on the site and it says both will be linked so no need to maintain both.
Used my €10 off €50 voucher last night. Got a storage rack for the attic for €42 (£50 on UK site) and a wireleas silent mouse for €10 (£8 on UK site). Got the 2 items for €42 with free delivery. Will probably check between the 2 sites for things but imagine I'll largely stick to the UK one.
This is incorrect, you cannot
Anyone know if the amazon ie site ships power banks?
I don't like to promote them because of their spam here but you'll find those small items are the same items you can get on Temu. The difference is Temu stuff takes longer to arrive but its half the price or less. One item I bought on Amazon.co.uk was €16 and got a second one on Temu for €6. I don't think there is any item on Temu that isn't also on Amazon.
There are some available on there but seems to be a limited number that are actually available to order.
