thank you Joe. Yeah it was a 1st plus I looked at and according to your link, no wireless charging.
Unlikely, brochure below from 2020 would indicate that it was only on the 1st edition Max;

do all id3’s from 2020 have wireless phone charging or only some?
mmm, yeah. Just a bit disconcerting when you see a puddle like this. Car was very grubby too. I know I should probably look past these cosmetic things…….
Then there could be a leak or they didn't close the boot properly during a recent shower or something.
there was no plastic cubby. Just the metal more a less. So cables stashed in and just a metal area.
It was just the base of this cubby area. The main base of the boot was dry. Strange one. Kinda put me off a bit.
If there was a leak the water would be below the plastic cubby for the cables and lying on the metal below the cubby though?
half a cm is a lot of water to drip off a cable.
Don’t all car boots have ducts inside the bumpers to counter the sucking effect of closing the boot?
So it could in theory be coming from the outside.
Were the sides of that cubby wet too, or literally just the base?
Twas private.
Thanks but can’t see that option there. I’m using an iPhone with app version 2.47.0.
It might be my car alright as I haven’t been able to update the software on it for a few years so could be causing an issue now.
I'd say you're right. Is it a dealer or private sale?
went to look at a 2020 ID.3 today. All generally ok. But the area under the boot floor where you store the cables had water in it. About half a centimetre. My thinking is that they used the cables and put them in wet which caused the water puddle. The actual area directly under the boot floor was dry. The little cable storage area pointed out below was is what I am talking about. Is this like a walk away, forget about it scenario. Just not good when you see a puddle.
Could be your car rather than the app
In the app settings scroll to the bottom and there's an option to sync with the car, have you tried this?
Nope, ok on my side - just checked. iOS version 2.47.0
Anyone else having trouble with the Volkswagen app? It’s been over 2 days since it last successfully synchronised with my car.
Thanks for that. I like my sound but not audible by any means. I can tell the standard ID3 is lacking a bit, in some songs more than others and have never upgraded speakers in a car before - this is just a bonus. It’s not covered in any reviews which I thought was odd.
Traction control is a lot better as it can control the motor instantly compared to it can with ICE, it's much more responsive. When traction light does come on you often don't notice it unless pulling out of a junction very quickly in very wet conditions where it needs to properly cut the power then you notice it but otherwise very smooth
I work shifts and often drive through freezing conditions early morning/late night and there's zero concerns with driving RWD.
Quickie for ID3 owners.
Does it handle like ICE rear wheel drive cars in icy weather? I.e. not great.
Probably. More info here;

thanks. The sending of the dongle etc sounds a bit convoluted.
It used to be about €100 for a full test where they send you an OBD dongle by post and you send it back after charging/discharging the vehicle. More recently there seems to be Agents in Ireland. See here;
thanks. Have they mobile units that cover the west? How much roughly.
Yes, not uncommon with the early cars. A 2020 ID.3 would be from the first batch delivered here. Maybe get an Aviloo test or similar if you’re concerned and/or buying without a warranty.
Some had the issue, yes.
I wouldnt say it was "common" though.
If you look at the OBD output of the car and the figures look good you should be OK. He sounds like he is being honest with you and it would have been done under warranty so it should be fine in that regard.
looking at buying a 2020 ID.3
The seller is telling me he had an issue with a battery nodule - and he states was a common issue on the ID.3's, was replaced under warranty at a main dealer
does this sound right?
Yeah completely unsuitable tyres for them, I went through 8 tyres in 40k kms on a standard cupra born, I don't hold out much hope for yours in a gtx. At least they were replaced under the service pack.
Best of luck with gtx, good to see plenty buying them at a good price for the performance and total package on offer
Im a week and 1000km's in and no issues with the car in general.
Im no audiophile so take my opinion with a pinch of salt, but its decent. Certainly a big improvement on the previous ID.3, which had quite poor audio (didnt even have rear speakers!). It takes volume and base comfortably enough from wireless Apple Carplay
The electronics for it are under the boot liner and I used store a granny cable and an umbrella under there. Nothing fits in that space now.
The audio is very configurable, you can move the sound around the cabin and adjust for the number of passengers, base etc.
I've no complaints about the sound, but maybe your fussy about sound?
Anything in particular you listen to that I could give a blast and see how it behaves?
Side note… I got the short straw with this ID.3, like the last one, in that I got landed with Bridgestone tyres again. I suspect they will melt off this one at about 12k km's again, like they did the last one, and with 326hp at the rear it could be even sooner than that! They have only 6mm thread again to begin with! 🙄
If anyone is in the Cork area I'm happy to let you take a look if youre considering the GTX PP.
Yeah would love to know this. From what I've seen reviewers aren't making too much about it. Will be my first car with a sub so I'm looking forward to it either way.
