German and Dutch and French customers can buy from Amazon UK, just as you can buy from amazon Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain etc if you wish and the items are available for shipping to Ireland.
Their systems are so automated that it makes little difference.
Prices will differ as amazon may use different suppliers for different markets and those suppliers may have different pricing to each other. Just as you can see a different price on amazon.de to amazon.fr for identical items
Lots of stuff I've looked up is on .ie and comes from .de. Prices seem to be the same so its free shipping from .de for a lot of stuff on my .de wishlist.
No Audible service on Amazon.ie for audiobooks yet but that may take time with existing licensing agreements, etc.

No to next day delivery unless you check item is next day delivery. No way are a lot of the items I want going to be next day. They are listed on .ie but are sold by a company in .de.

So they pretty much just replicated the UK site and priced at current EUR/GBP exchange rate? I've looked at some phones and flagships on sale in Ireland, e.g. at €1,599 are €1,682 because of blanket exchange conversion.

Just change jurisdiction in app. I’ve been prime customer for years though.
You can typically switch between any of the stores within the App (or website for that matter), regardless of which region your account is registered to.
Some of the items though as saying will be delivered a day earlier on the .ie site… Possibly only items located in the Irish wareehouse? @Gumbo , just curious but I'm assuming that you have not transferred over your prime to .ie so this is hitting you for shipping, which I would have thought would be free if you were a Prime member on the .ie site, thereby zero-ing your shipping cost and bringing the pricing to that which equals the .uk site ?

I did look at the time and chatted with an associate, but amazon were 70 euros cheaper at that time.
Found one (yes, only one) item off over 50 in my .co.uk basket/wishlist to barely match the price on .ie, the rest is dearer on .ie site, so will stay with .co.uk for a while.
The good thing about that one I mentioned, it would not be delivered to Ireland when bought on UK page (bulky item), on IE it says "free delivery", so definately good sign.
This along with no prime reading is a big no for me
Why is the offering different for the Irish domiciled site
I'd thread carefully as you will be effectively cancelling your .UK prime membership by activating the .IE subscription. Unless of course you use a fresh account and 'sub up' for a month to test some scenarios. Either way, once this is established, I fear we will be worse off.
Yeah just went in and checked it. I’m on a free account now for the next few months so I’ll re-evaluate when that free period is over.
Below €150 for a shipment is exempt from a Customs charge; above that, you are then exposed, with the rate dependant on the category/tariff of the goods. The VAT portion of the transaction is carried out seamlessly, with the UK VAT removed and IE vat added. You can carry out a transaction, say for a laptop, and proceed to just before the point of commit (payment) and you will see all the relevant charges displayed.
Since the dredded Brex#t I stopped using Amazon.co.uk and prefer Amazon.de tho some pricing is very similar I found items availble in Germany but not the Uk so stuck with Amazon.de.
If you check who is selling the item then you get it earlier if the Dispatches from and Sold by are Amazon.ie. If you check on .co.uk you'll see there stuff is Dispatched and Sold by Amazon. If that makes sense?
Whats the consensus on switching prime to ireland? Specifically with prime video etc will we likely have the same titles?
