Finally happened. Wonder will we still get same bargains as UK site??
bought 20…
Bought a robot vacuum on .co.uk site 10 days ago
€230 delivered
Its €310 on the.ie site
I'll be sticking with the UK and other EU sites
so do you need another prime subscription for free irish delivery in theory
Yeah. Checked a few things I have saved in my UK basket, all more expensive on the Irish site. Sadly unsurprising
Yes. Unless you transfer your existing Prime subscription over. But the link isn't working at the moment.
Just checked the prices on a number of items which I had in my basket and prices are around 14% more expensive on the Irish site. Not too long ago I purchased a chain tool from Amazon.com for €140.91 and that included import charges and VAT. The same tool would have cost me €207.65. from Amazon.uk
spent a pretty penny the past week, the ie site would have cost considerably more. Will be sticking to the UK site!
Wonder if they will start restricting Prime
will they start limiting delivery from the Uk site to addressing in ROi I wonder
Have a pair of headphones in my UK basket @ £189. Checked .IE, €224.75 less €10 promotion €214.75. So slightly cheaper in this case!!!
One thing I buy when it's on special on the UK site was a bit cheaper on the Irish site but not by a whole lot. The .ie site was selling some some non alcoholic drinks and chocolate. You can't buy that stuff on the UK site from Ireland. I'll be keeping my Prime UK subscription a while longer yet.
Anybody know if you have a gift card balance on the uk site and do the switch to the .ie site does the gift card balance transfer over ?
Only thing I ever wanted Amazon.ie for was to buy laptops off them with a UK keyboard layout but still be able to reclaim the VAT. First thing I did was check the new MacBook air, says it's sold from Amazon UK and import charges are included in the price. Fúcking useless so.
thats kind of being happing for a while now more and more things were becoming undeliverable ,will only probably increase now though.
We are going to get shafted. I can feel it. And still no poxy charger banks….unless you want to pay silly money for Belkin.
Indeed, makes no sense for them otherwise to set up .ie option
They can't be transferred
What's the €10 promotion? Share!!
Ah
They need to price match with the UK site to get people to move over. But no surprise really that .ie is more expensive.
I won't be switching yet either, I bought a Hi-fi system last month on UK site, at moment on UK site its €474 on IE site its €519 because its being dispatched from UK.
I wonder what Amazon Prime Video will be like, will it be same as UK or will we lose certain TV shows due to rights etc., no mention of that on here news page.
hrrmmph
A saved item is €300 on UK site but is 340 on the Irish site. What’s the point of it if it’s considerably more expensive. They’re going to have to stop delivering to Ireland on Amazon UK or bring down their prices otherwise it’s going to end up being pointless
The kindle book store is staying on .co.uk which is a pain in the hoop if you were to decide to switch to .ie for everything else.
So you need to maintain a UK account in order to get books on your Kindle?
Yep
No power banks available from amazon.ie
Edit: it actually appears you can order them. I just tried two anker power banks and it went all the way through to place order to my irish address.
I had to click "more buying options", as it appear it wasn't able to be shipped, but it let me click amazon as the seller under more buying options.
Edit 2: I think it might be a "bug", as i've tried several items, including chemicals and it's getting all the way to place order (using "more buying options" and picking a seller)
What a rip off (and yes I know they won't ship usb power banks to Ireland from .co.uk )
€36.99 on ie,
€19.93 on .co.uk

Pass for me
That was the thing I was looking forward to from an amazon.ie site or even batteries in general as there are some types impossible to buy in Ireland. The amazon.ie is still very young, it's in 6 months we'll know if it's just a wrapper for the UK site with a selection of popular goods for Ireland.
see my updated post, seems you can. Along with other items that were restricted.
I'm looking at this. €67 from UK (will there be customs charges as well?).
€61 from Irish site and a tenner discount.
Any thoughts? I've never bought anything from Amazon.

Anyone know if there is much of a difference between .ie and .de websites?
