Bad news for Scotland if this is the case
Wales don't help themselves. Poor exit from the try and just invited England on to them and another try
Penalty try and yellow card there? taking a maul down 2 m from the tryline.
That looked like it should have been a penalty try from the maul and then another couple of pens conceeded before the try
Ref ought to given a penalty try there. Ridiculous England haven't been carded.
England should be getting a YC here
Blair Murray is a shining light in a very dull team
Cowan dickie tackle was awesome there
Imagine having the ref shout "use it" at you at the apex of your pass, it would irritate the **** out of me.
Thought it was a bit dangerous too.
Itoje should be carded for that
Fin Smith is a serious operator.
he's reacting to ball. In real time, that's the action of a second. Curry was never catching that ball, and Williams only impacts him after it had bounced off his hands already.
Serious pass, serious finish
I think it is fair enough to cancel the try
Dunno, he goes to tackle him before he has actually gathered the ball
I thought that was a try for Wales. Would you guys think differently?
Shite call there by the ref. Williams didn't impact that play at all.
Murray has some serious acceleration. Could definitely see him making the plane to Aus
Looked like hands on the ground for the English jackle penalty. TMO needs to be able to come in for those
Roof closed in the principality…
England have a serious team for this.
I obviously meant it in terms of the UK and Irish markets. Once any sport goes behind a pay wall it loses a lot of casual fans and exposure. All for a quick buck.
Cricket is still popular as ever in India and Australia. It was never very popular here.
As soon as the 6N goes behind a pay wall, it'll go the way of cricket.
Like if we can avoid any rugby coverage at all from hugh cahill bernard jackman and few otgers with rte its a good day but still will take free to air and its greater numbers of eyeballs for many of our iriah games. The sport needs the higher viewing figures
I get that. I'd just prefer TNT because I think they do a better job and I'll be watching no matter what channel it's on.
Less People would see the games though which irfu and other unions fear. Having 5 saturdays with 2 or 3 games throughout February and march on free to air channels is great for game. Far less people wpuldntune in if on tnt or another pay channel
That's a shame. Would much rather TNT than RTE or Virgin.
I'd be astounded if France don't win it from here. I genuinely thought Ireland were going to win it this year, especially as the rounds went on.
I can't see past.
1st France
2nd England
3rd Ireland
4th Scotland
5th Italy
6th Wales
The uncharacteristic dropping of bonus points from Ireland whilst giving cheap ones away (England in the first round looks like it's going to cost over €1 million in lost prize money), is the undoing of Ireland this year.
So, with one round remaining who do posters think will win the 6Ns Championship and has your opinion changed since the start of the tournament.
At this stage, it's France to lose. At the beginning of the tournament I was hopeful that we could win it, maybe not a GS but could put enough points on teams to win it with PD. Unfortunately, the sluggish start v England and Wales not lying down for us meant our game v France was almost an all or nothing game. France weathered the storm against us in the first quarter and after that it was all France til it consolidation try time.
To take this slightly off the 2025 tournament for a second (but not really worth a new thread) UK TV rights for 2026-2029 have just been announced, BBC and ITV retain with the same 1:2 split of games but now ITV will have all England fixtures. So no threat now of the rights Igoing to TNT or any other pay tv broadcaster and you’d have to expect RTE and VMTV will renew the ROI rights.
