Well that is going to build up really high, really quickly. He's still there every day "reporting for work"
Increasing the fines is not going to deter him. They've already watered them down.
They're going to have to come up with something new, even if it means new legislation, to deal with Enoch, e.g. something like the "Isaac Wunder" Order. Though I think he'll continue turning up at that school until the day he dies, at this point.
Sling him back in prison, it’s what he wants so give it to him. Put him in prison and just leave him there until he purged the contempt. If he spends his natural there then he’ll have no one to blame but himself.
I agree. The students and staff of WHS shouldn't have to suffer his obnoxious presence every day.
Indeed, no out for Christmas no brought back to court occasionally for a chat. Just leave him there until he purges, have it set up so he can be brought straight to court if he wants to get out but that apart just sit tight.

Certainly sounds like the AG's office are going at this with all guns blazing now that they are finally grappling with it. And not before time either. You'd like to think that Burke will see the writing on the wall and modify his behaviour accordingly, but I have my doubts.
It could, however, be the beginning of the end of this sorry saga, and the end of another dispiriting chapter in "The Miserable Existence of the Burkes of Castlebar" when that depressing tome eventually gets to be written.

The only thing I can think of is nobody who is asked wants to accept a place on the panel, only to have their private matters delved into by the Burkes, and be followed around or harassed by them for the rest of their lives.
No street, supermarket, or garage forecourt would be safe from being accosted by them.

They're invited by the school to sit on the panel, not obliged to.

Were the daily fines not doubled ages ago?
I saw loads of comments on other social media saying things like:
'fair play to him.....leave him alone....he's only exercising his rights' referring to Enoch Burke.
All of this is nonsense. At this stage it's not about the original dispute but he is ignoring a court order for a long time now and ignoring the law of the land. All he had to do was stay away from the school until a formal meeting or hearing took place where that would determine his position in the school.
It was thrown out.
Took 14 odd months which is fitting for this clown show.
Mr Burke did not appear before the court as he was again at the school on Friday but he sent an affidavit disputing the judge’s findings last month and also saying he could not “in all good conscience” provide details of his means to the court.
I wonder why he's so reluctant to provide these details? I presume he's either disposing of his salary to others, or doesn't want to disclose a large amount of money in his account? I'd imagine they all live fairly frugally.

Well he has spent the last few years giving the two fingers to the courts without any repercussion that actually made him change his behaviour

The judge should impose a fine for that too!
Honestly would piss you off when you think there’s pensioners getting jailed for not paying a TV licence while Burke is free to daily ignore court orders essentially getting away with it.
I know it’s been said to death but it’s a sad state for the country when he can get away with this shite. Not just standing outside but going into the school, classrooms, staff meetings etc it’s not on like.
I also don’t believe for one second was i to show up at my child’s school tomorrow letting myself into classrooms, staff meetings and disrupting school I would definitely be arrested and definitely not let near the school again.
If it’s not the case that a former teacher can’t be barred from going to a school to the point where their attendance results in immediate arrest then I really don’t think we’ve got things right here.

Virtually all pensioners get free TV licences; I doubt there's been a pensioner jailed for refusing to pay a court fine for not having a TV licence (what they go to jail for, rather than not having one) in Ireland in years, if ever.
That's a UK thing.
