Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
any news on Galway airport gigs? I remember reading something a while back that they would not go ahead but haven't seen anything official.
Was wondering would they be a headliner for EP?? Seems they're just doing festivals and the odd arena date
Anyone know if Kings of Leon are planning any Irish gigs for the summer? They are about the UK and Europe, just haven’t announced any Irish shows. Surely they could do a Belfast show even after playing Marlay last summer
Deadly! Family trip! Well, if I can persuade them it's not too embarrassing.
Ah man, I'm away, would have been very tempted to take the kids for the matinee!
Sprints, Grand Social, Saturday 29th March https://singularartists.ie/show/sprints-2025/
Must have heard all the chat about matinee shows as they've an all ages at 4 and 18+ at 8pm.
Thought it was pretty explanatory. Bands are not going to play ireland /Dublin on every European run, especially when they just played a massive headline show in the summer. London is nearly always on the itinerary for Each tour by bands given its population and it being music and cultural epicentre.
Your point being? They played the UK last Summer too.
only played here in the summer. Must of played here 20 times since the crawdaddy show. Can’t visit ireland on every European trip
Saturday night was mentioned
Any rumblings of LCD shows in the country this year? Residency of 9 nights in O2 Brixton Academy in mid-June went on general sale this morning.
£74 (ex fees) across the board for seating and standing seems a bit tasty but maybe the standard.
already 4 days of marlay announced. Sold out Olivia Rodrigo and Noah kahan days and longitude festival. gracie Abrams getting announced after her 3 arena shows is the rumour
Great. I'll be going in blind (or deaf) so.
I do have fond memories of seeing them in Vicar Street when I was a younger person, been good to catch up with the albums since too. Still putting out quality stuff.
They've been gigging like mad. I've not managed to make one yet but I'd say they've already played Dublin 5/6 times this year, you shouldn't have to wait too long. They do sound great
Any whispers of marlay park gigs? Surprised nothing announced yet
Only got round to listening to their album this week and love it. Hopefully they'll have another gig lined up soon.
Sun Mahshene are a post-shoegaze band from Ireland. Weaving together a perfect storm of fuzzed up guitars, memorable melodies, and insightful lyrics, this Dublin-based 6-piece are a must-see live experience. Since forming in 2018, the band have gained a cult following from high-profile support slots, as well as their own headline shows. With members hailing from Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Poland, the line-up is eclectic and diverse, leading to music that is a bold mix of alternative rock and indie electronica. Balancing dreamy musical moments with a full-on sonic assault, the songs have a decidedly anthemic tone.

Ha…! I hope he doesn't…! Just create a racket, Neil. The meltdown on social media will be worth it….!
Saw half their set at graspop a few years ago. Not my thing at all. Very cheesy generic metal sound. Surprised they are popular at all here
Yup, will be going to this and the RAH show in London on Paddy's Day. They are a phenomenally good live band (their show at the NCH was as good as I've been to in Ireland in a decade). The Olympia show is with strings and a different setlist to the recently completed tour (drawn mostly from their 'Soft Tissue' album) so should be a very special night. Absolutely worth going to.
Matinee shows the odd time at the Roisín Dubh when there's huge demand for a gig but the act can't do the following night. In the last 5/6 years amongst others we've had afternoon sets from the likes of Mercury Rev, Mick Flannery & Susan O'Neill, Pillow Queens and the local Stones covers band (with a couple of ex-Waterboys). Helps that the city is small so popping back to the hotel or grabbing grub is relatively easy. A weekend afternoon gig is a fine way to spend your time. More of that please.
Any idea if its the Wednesday or the Friday night? I can't fontain my excitement
4411eur show fee which was 80% of the total profit.
So promoter made 2k profit on the show (in theory).
Interesting that if they charged €30 for the show, which is still quite cheap, they would have made a profit (€5x520=€2600 extra income)
Saturday tickets for BTP as well last year. I think only went on sale close to the festival.
AAh would make sense alright. Don't know who they're kidding though, making time to eat. Entertain me please!
Generally you've a Load in/Load out time, by the time everything is Turned on/Tuned in/Tested you'd have a very tight turnaround time to do 2 shows, even if you didn't have media obligations/ signings/ the pesky need to eat before a show.
Essentially may have broke even by making it 18+, fair play to them.
Does venue hire cover the full day? Could they have done a matinee show to help the costs? TBH I'd love to see a big band do a gig in the afternoon
Technically they lost money on the jolly up in Dublin, but the fact that if they'd have done a day in day out run they'd only have made about 300 euro is fairly depressing..........
We always do very well on merch. A key element to this, which a lot of bands neglect, is to actually have good shirt designs
They should put this on a t shirt..........
A very interesting read. And ultimately, very sad that what sound like a very principled band end up losing money by putting on a gig. Awful.
I was hoping 5ive might have announced Cork or INEC Kerry too
