I have heard nothing since round 1 results were posted. ( OOM 2 for cork)
I have also heard nothing since round 1 results were posted (Open Stream: 6, Offaly); a bit confused by it all?
Also I opted for the Irish Language option so not sure if that has delayed things for me?
Is it updated by county for Stage 2 rather than everyone getting a message update? Thanks :)
Yes, if theres no job in the near future, they won't assess applications in that county.
Interviews for Dublin are now being scheduled
Thanks. Out of interest and without being too specific what kind of lead times are being given.
interviews are the last week of March.
You'll only be called if there are jobs in Offaly. Are there many government departments there? There's a link that's been posted a few times in this thread with the numbers of AP hired in the last few years by county. Most people pick Dublin to get a job, regardless of where they live, and then apply for mobility to where they'd like to live.
The Irish will have had nothing to do with it. But it's a pity that they didn't allow people pick different counties for the Irish Language stream. I'm Dublin, but I know of some Irish language jobs in the west and would happily have taken one of those as well.
Thanks for your update on Cork batch Clonrunner
There are a number of Government departments in Offaly. Off the top of my head - Education, NSSO, Courts Service, Social Protection, Revenue and DPENDR. Possibly also Agriculture.
That's a lot. I'd say Offaly people have a fair shot of being called. I see from the list posted earlier that Offaly had the joint 3rd highest level of placements in the last competition.
I've unfortunately been pushed back to batch 2 from batch 1 because I'm out of the country when this round of interviews is taking place. I have another trip booked in early May, what are the chances that's when batch 2 interviews will be?!?
Wtf??? Are you me???? I'm in an identical boat
You just know that it'll transpire that interviews for batch 2 will be in early May!
Hopefully - I'm in the top 5 for both open and interD 😉. If these competitions teach you anything, it's patience.
There is no Revenue office in Offaly
Revenue, Customs & Excise is/was in the Gov't buildings in Tullamore. I believe Agriculture is there too.
I know there's a Revenue Regional Office in Westmeath.
There's a Government Office & Dept of Finance in Tullamore but not aware of a Revenue office in Tullamore.
What OOM covers batch 1?
What OOM is batch 1?
In Dublin batch 1 was 260 in open
That was after testing, Dublin was subdivided again after shortlisting. I was OOM 190s in batch 1 after testing so made the cut off for shortlisting.
After shortlisting I jumped up to OOM high 60s but didn't get called to interview in the first batch of interviews, think they only went up to the first 45. I will likely be called in the next batch whenever that takes place.
Hi All. Just wondering what the assessment part of the AP comp is. Is it a presentation? Also any tips on the capability framework?
Hey everyone! I applied for the Irish stream and now have to do a TEG exam - it seems pretty intense and the level is C1 which is really high. Just wondering if anyone has done this before? I would have thought the B2 level would have been satisfactory. My Irish is pretty good I can have full conversations about any topic and easily listen to the radio/watch tg4 - this exam is like doing the leaving cert - i.e it's a full day of examination and then the following day is an oral. Has anyone done it at this level? the pass mark is 60% too so I really am worried.

I was wondering this too. Do they give you a specific topic and a defined timeframe to prepare a presentation? Do you record yourself doing it and submit it or how does that work?
In the 2022 competition they gave you a choice of some government policies with the assignment to choose one, critique it, and recommend initiatives to improve it. You had about a week to research and draft your recommendations then email it to PAS a couple of days in advance of your interview, then present it to the panel at the start of your interview.
topics are out…… good luck to all
Best of Luck to All with the Interviews.
Hi all, any word on Sligo OOM
