Would anyone have an idea time wise of when you hear from Garda Siochana when you put in your application, and it’s after the closing date.. to know if you have been accepted to stage 1. Or how do they contact you to let you know?
thank you
tracey
So basically the prep courses for this were not relevant? I've got one and have been going through it for days.
Cheers man. I hope you get called up for an intake soon, you've been very helpful to the rest of us throughout this process.
"What is vetting anyway?"
Me hole Martin 2025
Regarding the eye test. I’ve failed my eye test and I was given the opportunity to book a second eye test on my own and send in the results. I booked the test with my optician but unfortunately it was just below the qualifying standard. I had to get laser eye surgery and send in proof of it. I don’t know anything about the hearing tests.
……,
Giseva yes it’s a joke. Vetting shouldn’t take 2 years.
If anything, the fact that its a "Vetting Bureau", it shouldn't take anymore than a month if you ask me.
is there a WhatsApp for 251 March in-take ?
I agree that sometimes tough things need to be said, but in this case, the comments were irrelevant and unhelpful. This page is about the Garda recruitment process. They're trolling this page rather than adding any value.
Yes we should be helpful here and assist ing other that need information. People are already anxious about the recruitment process. By the way did any hear any invitation that was sent week starting 24.02.25.
hey everyone, I was apart of the first group sitting the new PCT today.
Few things I’d like to say just because the bleep test has been shortened does NOT mean it’s gonna be a walk in the park you go straight from the run into the obstacle course I thankfully passed with 30 seconds still left on the clock but some others failed.
My biggest piece of advice I could give is slow is fast fast is slow, the only way you will fail the obstacle course is if you get a time fault so take your time through the obstacles, sprint whenever you can to save time.
bit unfair on anyone that failed on push ups or sit ups from the 24 campaign I think tbh. They would’ve been better off being in a later batch for interview.
I absolutely agree, but at the end of the day you need to prepare yourself for whatever test you are going to sit.
The responsibility is all on you
I'm hearing through word of mouth even from gardai I have met that not only now have they relaxed the fitness test but have also eased the vetting and medical little to get people in to Templemore.
The whole recruitment process seems to be a bit of a mess.
I think it will be a failure for me, a 47 year old woman. They removed sit and push ups and added running but now not only is the level more difficult (higher score) but then, obstacle course directly. They have made things easier for young people but in this way, they cut out or make things difficult for the over 40s, especially women.
….
Practice as much as you can. It isn’t impossible and the more you’re doing the practice beep tests, the stronger you’ll be. Do some sprinting as well. Check on YouTube about it.
Remember you get to try twice. But you may only need it the first time! This app is free for the beep tests..
the elders done great at the PCT I was at, it was actually the young people who were failing mainly due to being overweight and not to a fit standard. Practice your cardio and endurance and you will succeed!
Hi I was just wondering does anyone know when roughly they will announce the Aptitude test date?
Probably a month after it was closed I'd say.
Yeah, it's not that hard. I was told to stop after I reached my required standard. Wanted to push on and see how far I'd last but was stopped in my tracks. Sit ups and push ups were no issue either, I'm surprised they've been removed. Very easy to pass now.
Delighted, got an offer today for June intake, looking forward to the summer now....
Congrats well done! Best of luck
The fitness test as it stands is piss easy. Making it easier is ridiculous.
what date did they give for the June intake?
June 9th
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone is starting on Sunday 9th March going from mayo and is willing to give me a lift ? Some one hit my vehicle, it is now in for repair. Such bad timing 😪
what year did you apply ? Are you 2024 campaign
I'm from Batch 1 in 2024.
Is there any Whatsapp groups for applicants of 2024 ( who havent had an offer yet ) Im in batch 5
I think 203ppl are due to go down tomorrow for March intake....offers are gone out already for June intake starting June 9th....Think they can hold upto 250ppl for each intake 🤔
Batch 2 2024 vetting fully cleared offered place on June 9th
Congrats, when did you receive the offer? I'm batch 3 and haven't heard a thing yet
