Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
..
Nice. Oisin and Kate Stables together should be lovely.
Sharon van etten supports for Dublin announced and new Belfast and cork shows
Good supports.
too low key for my taste
Well true, good low key supports.
Has the Colin Meloy tour been mentioned in here before? The search function is basically non existent so I can't tell.
Playing Vicar St on the 25th of this month. Looks unlikely that we'll ever get the Decemberists back this side of the pond so I'll take what I can get.
nah he never did solo in europe before. the decemberists have played here on every album tour except most recent album. This show is kinda in lieu of that I suppose
Don't know either bit of research to be done before the gig
Angie played ATN in 2019, she was excellent. Katy also great.
cass mccombs and soak added to father John Misty bill
There was a time Soak seemed to be on a trajectory to be headlining shows like this, shame it never really worked out for her
the curse of being labelled the next big thing whilst a teenager. What was that band of teenagers the strypes that press was going mad over cause they were 14 or 15?.
I agree that it's a pity about Soak. Saw her perform in a tent at EP a few years ago - just her & a guitar. She was excellent. She still produces good music & still tours. She tried to go a wee bit more mainstream, I think, too. sort of worked.
I also saw The Strypes at EP a ew years ago, & loved them. They definitely split up, I remember.
On subject of young bands & trajectories, there's a young Derry band called Touts who were brilliant, but never seem to have taken off. I thought they were superb - saw them live a couple of times. Great EPs. Never saw an album.
is it the usual presale links for this or anyone know how to access?
for what show?
Same and tinnitus lasting longer every day after a gig.
Tell me more about these Loops please ?
Edit @BoardsMember thank you for link .
Ah they were great, haven't checked up on them in a while. I remember one early morning/ afternoon show at EP, first time I saw them, brilliant stuff.
I'm guessing Macca could be early June
Be great if it was July or August
Whelans last August, for 25e a ticket too which was a steal really.
Seems to have been a big enough gap between that and the previous Irish show but i remember it being a good crowd so hopefully they'll be back over sooner.
Good band, nice mix of madness and catchy hooks and the run are on the records are on short side so it's not overwhelming.
The Strypes really did get a hell of a lot of hype didn't they? Caught them a couple of times and they were really entertaining but they failed to come up with enough decent tunes of their own. What a blast they must have had for a couple of years though. Elton John took them into his management company and they became the band du jour for other musicians. A pal went to see them at the Macbeth pub near Old Street in London and they had Iggy Pop & Noel Gallagher in attendance. Can't buy memories like that.
Touts were more my thing. Caught them on a Sunday morning at EP (2016/2017?) where they blew the cobwebs off. Fast forward a couple of years and I went to see them at the Roisín Dubh - they had Inhaler in support and time has been kinder to only one of those outfits. A huge pity as the Derry lads had great potential. Also very sharp-witted boys and here's hoping they re-emerge soon.
Aiken removed the Aviva Stadium tease
Dont seem to be any rumours of Macca touring this year.
it was a insta story which deletes after 24 hours
was a few rumours before Christmas of a summer run
Thanks Stillill42 possible stupid question what does (dub only) mean after Katy mean?
only doing Dublin show
I did wonder that but thought it was a small d and can't find it now?
Katy is only playing support in Dublin. Angie on her own for the other shows.
Thanks as thought small d didn't think this and surely would have easy to say Dublin
