You dont have to do anything from the main box with multiple tuners.
You input the IP address you want to stream from and save it on your slave box.
This is what my Zero is set up as using IP off the other networked box
Brilliant . Thank you.
Changed cabling and seems to be ok now. Cables came with sky tv in 2004 apparently . Thanks for all your help Swoofer and calamari
Strictly speaking the device you want to set up as a " client " is the slave, the box you are connecting too is the Master or Server.
You type in the ip address of the Main box. Also you need to type in the username ( usually "root" ) and password on the main box. Leave everything else as is.
If you have not set up the main box for network access , you need to do that , and to do that , you need to set a password.
If youve already done it , and can access the box via webif , then you are good to go , just enter username , password , and the ip address of the main box , then you should be OK.
Note that it may take a while for the box to grab all the EPG data from the main box.
Brilliant, thanks so much Andy1249.
Yes, I can access the box via webif. So hopefully nothing to do to the Master box.
With regard to the Samba/NFS mounts I can set them up but can't figure out how to access them from other boxes. Any pointers please?
Menu - setup - network - mounts - network browser - scan - find your boxes on the network and click on its usb or hdd and accept to add to your access this box or others and save and exit out.
So I got the OCTAGON SX88 to use in client mode for a 2nd tv.
It doesn't seem to have openvix installed. How do I add it?
It does have an "E2tv" app. Not sure if that's an enigma 2 app.
You will need a 8gb usb stick formatted to fat 32 and extracted to that usb, Kingston , Integral and Cruzer worked for me.

Not sure if its the Mmc file needed and not the Recovery file?
Great thanks for that. I was trying it with a 4gb USB so that might be the issue.
I found that Web page with guides but unfortunately it doesn't include a guide for the sx88
Some boxes dont like some usb sticks and box needs to be powered off before installing usb.
Standard usb flashing guide for all Enigma2 boxes.
4Gb should be okay as max size is 8GB
Great thank you.
Just asked about the specific manual because there seems to be slightly different ways, on the various boxes, of launching the usb on set up.
Thanks again - will have a play with it and try find a different usb.
There is a lot of apps and German channels already on it - is it worth doing a factory reset?
Tell me where you bought box, and was it openatv image. using USB for these boxes is not recommended they are multiboot and dont touch recovery file. You flash to a new slot but you wont get the option when using USB and never do a factory reset.
and box has dual OS.
And you will need a separate thread.
I hope I;m not too late
The German channels come from Astra 19.2E pre-configuration. You can remove those in the scan/bouquet settings. Our sh1t is on Astra 28.2E, with the dish aligned on that you wont be able to receive 19.2E anyway.
Bought off a German website so possibly flashed with ATV ? and tuned on 19.2 ,
Dont factory reset as causes more issues , so this box has 4 slots like the H7S.
If Atv is on it does it give it a choice of image to download to usb and flash the box.
Question for you guys. I been using a Ferguson Ariva 120 combo box for many a year now. Yes it's slow and old. Am I missing freesat channels that the ariva 120 can't pick up. Where's the best place to buy the zgemma h7s at the moment. I just want the cheapest 1 without hard drive for now.
Was the channel list updated by providers when channels moved i wonder, new tps might not be on the box.
I would lose channels often and have to update the tps to get them back. That's the pain in the ass bit
Thanks So much folks - started a separate thread on it now but couldn't copy over your replies
Has anyone bought their Zgemma from Freesat.ie?
They are selling a box with a 500Gb HD for €240. I contacted them and they say it comes fully pre-programmed! Would be interested to hear anyone else's experience with them
I purchased from them before and they were fine to deal with. I did have an issue with a faulty tuner and they replaced the unit without issue. I would say that the image that was pre-programmed was an old one, but did work. They may have a newer image on their units now and in my case I followed the instructions within this forum and updated the box.
Bought from Freesat w/o hard drive and they were quick and all good. When I had a question wrt hard drive fit they came back immediately and were helpful. Would be there again.
May have been preprogrammed but I immediately put recent OpenATV on it anyway. It's just the distro that I like and know best, the other ones are probably very similar and just as good.
Bought that SSD ,arrived yesterday and all set up very easily.
Cheers for the help.
Hi all. I have cancelled my Sky account and am looking for a combo box recommendation?
Is the Z Gemma still the best available?
Im not very tech savvy so really am looking for something that works out of the box with a decent interface and simple record facility.
Any recommendations/help is greatly appreciated
It wont work out of the box but to get saorview and freesat working isn't a big job.
Adding a SSD/HDD will sort out the recording.
A tuning guide and a few other steps were posted here a few days ago and it can be all done via the remote control.
I was in the sane boat. It sounds more daunting that it is!!! Once you get used to the language and the box settings all very easy to set up.
Just set up the basics and take time. This thread is super super helpful.
Thanks all.
So would the Z Gemma from freesat.ie be my best option?
https://freesat.ie/
https://www.satworld.ie/
https://satcity.ie/
https://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/ will have to pay customs
I bought from satcity a few weeks ago and no complaints.
Came with openvix installed although it was a older version.
Think 6.7 is the latest version of openvix.
