Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.

Got sorted for Coheed, buzzing. If anyone is visiting Belfast for them I'd fully recommend the Sunflower pub round the corner for pre-gig pints and pizza.
second date for d block at the marquee added
No standing available atm
Surprised it's all seated unless it's an error
Got Block L myself, First come first served
I've noticed Ticketmaster have removed the dynamic pricing notification from tickets and also removed Platinum notification for most Platinum tickets.
They just jack the prices up now without warning, obviously trying to get around any Dynamic pricing scrutiny.
They really are a despicable company.
Example is Pitbull here
The original prices were €86.25–€96.25 but they have jacked them way up.

I heard an ad on the radio this morning and when it got to mentioning the dynamic pricing, the persons voice speed up so much that it stood out. Think it was an ad for Pitbull….
Gig # 27 for Marquee announced, has to be a record year for quantity of events, allthough quality is another story.
I got standing this morning at about 10:05. Not sure what to make of this venue though only heard bad things.
Yea I'd say it's a mistake, tbh if I can't get any in the morning I'll go for block D
Slayer announcing dates for Wales and England soon, there retirement didn't last long
That's so scummy. €200 for a seat in Block G. Outrageous.
The Academy is free on the 9th July, thought that would be a better venue for Coheed and Alexisonfire, Whelans prob too small
Olympia and Vicar Street prob too big for them
The stadium is 3 times the size of the academy and bigger than the Olympia and vicar st.....
didnt realise that
People would wanna get used to this crap. This along with them restricting Ticketmaster Transfer to the week of concerts so the only option for parents put under pressure to get tickets will be have to fork out these huge prices for tickets as there will be no other way to get them.
Ticketmaster and the artists that allow this know well what they are doing!
It really is amazing how Ticketmaster and certain artists have carte blanche to rob their fans blind with these ridiculous prices and the media turns a blind eye to it!!!
It's really just legalised touting. But if they can set the price at 150 and people buy them, why would they sell them at 80?
Pretty sure Coheed sold out the Academy on their own awhile back so makes sense to go for a bigger venue with Alexisonfire
Tonight
Fresh off the back of supporting The Brian Jonestown Massacre in Dublin and Belfast two weeks ago, Irish post-shoegaze band Sun Mahshene will play a headline show in The Crowbar Terrace @ The Button Factory
Friday February 28th | 7:30pm | Support from Telekura | Tickets €8
Online ticket sales closed - pay at the door only
The media are in on it.
All those free tickets they get to run competitions and promotions thats the price for good reviews and favourable articles.
Any review of a a concert in the papers is literally a paid for advert.
The flawed legislation introduced here has as predicted given Ticketmaster a monopoly to charge whatever they want and also do whatever they want.
there isn’t a conspiracy and comp tickets to the press have no strings attached. artists are charging what they think the market can take. Artists/their agent decide if and how many vip tickets/dynamic etc are enabled.
Absolutely spot on everything you said!
How is a review, which appears after the show, an advert?
The media aren't "in on it" in any way. The 'media' don't need free tickets to give away and honestly, how often do you see tickets being given away in competitions? It's really not that many outside of a few bigger gigs and even then the ticket volumes are tiny.
They simply just don't care enough to make a deal of it as they likely know from all the 'issues' over the years with tickets whether it was Euro 2020, U2, Garth Brooks, Oasis or whoever that nothing will change as Live Nation or Aiken or whoever will shrug their shoulders, wait out the shouting and artists will still charge what they want. All the media furore over Oasis… what came of it? Nothing.
Personally I think the legislation has done shag all. People are quick to forget that touts were selling tickets on Viagogo and Seatwave for crazy money pre-legislation (far above what Platinum tickets sell for). I remember U2 tickets being sold at over €1500 a pop and the thing is that if secondary selling was still permitted, Ticketmaster (via Seatwave) would make more money from tickets being sold on their secondary site (due to their crazy service charges) than what they make now selling a ticket at a dynamic price. Irrespective of that, locking the ability of transferring a digital tickets is outrageous. And selling tickets in dynamic pricing is also hugely scummy.
But I say it time and again, blame the artist.
How was it? I was on the fence about going as I had an early start next day and by the time I made up my mind it was sold out
The media have been highly critical of dynamic pricing, particularly in the US but recently in Europe following its introduction here. The press are not the issue, and given that artists & promoters aren't going to display any integrity we're reliant on legislators to do the job. The current Irish coalition won't bother but thankfully there are other less toothless bodies about.
The US Justice Department anti-trust case against Live Nation/Ticketmaster will result in them breaking up and the same will happen via the EU over here, hopefully with very strong financial penalties imposed. They've got no hope of winning so they're undoubtedly trying to accumulate as much cash as possible before the inevitable and hope that the fines don't claw everything back. Here's hoping they will, and more.
I caught three bands, all impressive - Tramp from Donegal and Galway crew Adore both very good though less of a crowd (people in the upstairs smoking area) than another local crew Shark School who blew the roof off and went down a storm. I missed the first band Dreamboy and went home circa midnight before CABL came on. My nephew & niece turned up for that (circa 11.45) and were let in free. A very good evening but I reckon the Blowtorch night on the 1 May will be better. Stronger acts for me.
Unfortunately I wouldnt hold my breath about the DOJ tackling Livenation.
You do realise who is President of the US now and how he differs dramatically from the Democrats regarding regulation.
I can see that case not progressing.
The Irish coalition wont do much because alot of them are constantly on the vip/guest list, its not in their interests to kick up too much fuss. The odd piece of furore to gain headlines but its mostly just posturing.
The case is on-going. The DOJ sued Live Nation on 23 May 2024 and is pushing for a jury trial. They were later joined in the action by the attorney-generals of 38 US states as well as that of the District of Colombia. The case has public support across the political divide as reported by polling in The Hill. Republican politicians will be paying attention.
There's also a civil case by consumers filed the day after the DOJ action. There are potentially several million people involved in this class action. Neither case will go well for Live Nation. The EU is also preparing to intervene and you can optimistically expect a happy ending here.
the most that will be happen is that live nation and TM will have to be legally separate entities and operate at arms length. Which isn’t miles away from current practice. vip tickets, dynamic, tickets prices being set by artist is still going to happen
