I'm not fan of City and their ways, but that disallowed goal was a farce. If it takes 4 minutes to see if there's obvious evidence to overturn a goal, then I've got news for you, there's clearly no obvious evidence!

Salah is getting rather good at that outside of the left foot slice pass. TAA was inches away from getting on the end of one a couple of minutes ago. And now another attempt could have capped a goal of the season contender, but the outstretched Diaz finish is just wide.

Personally I think it's a strong league this year. If you look at away matches at the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth, Forest, Fulham, Brentford, none of them are easy and a draw is arguably a good result. Add in the likes of Newcastle, Villa plus the traditional "Big 6" (bar Utd and Spurs at the minute) and you've got a lot of depth in my eyes. Liverpool have just been really good, simple. One loss all season is some going.

It was the other way round. The ref gave a handball, VAR tried to find clear evidence that he didn’t.

The commentator quoted VAR as saying there was no clear evidence to overturn the decision, then wondered why there was a free out. A few moments later he clarified that the initial decision was handball.
it is more competitive, no doubt about that. i would say the gap between 2 - 16th is closer than before. and that suits the best team, in that their next best competitor can lose points to anyone.
i dunno, fair play to liverpool. its some achievement and kudos to them for handling the transition from klopp so well. it's really quite remarkable.
City can start grinding out wins to get there ahead of Arsenal and Forest I'd say.

Arsenal tonight could have been 56 to pools 64 with a game in hand, potentially 5 points back with 10 games to play. Hardly boring for an arsenal fan/player/manager.
If arteta doesn't think that's catchable (before tonight's results) he should Jack it in.
Arsenal have always been the same distance away from Liverpool for most of the season, never showed any sign of gaining ground, probably due to Liverpools consistency.
And this last few weeks with Arsenal bottling it has made the league a non event now, bar watching who is going to make the CL.
Not sure how a team that has spent precisely zero days on top of the league all season, and has been at least 5 points off the top for months, can "bottle it" to be honest, but ok
I have to agree, I don't think the league has ever been as strong with regards the middle, to the lower pack. In a way this season has been a funny one, no team should be running away with it, but Liverpool have managed to go to some of these difficult places and get results. So fair play to them.
I'm going to make a brave prediction, moving forward I think this could be the last of the 90 point seasons for the next few years. (That's if Liverpool get there). There's just too many difficult teams, with quality all over the pitch to try and beat everyone. Wolves have 3 players in the Brazilian squad for God sake.
The problem on the flip side of this, it's now even more impossible for the promoted clubs to stay up. The quality of the teams ahead is just too great.
Definitely agree that it'll be very difficult to get 90+ going forward, especially as you'd assume United and Spurs are at something of a nadir this season.

4 points is a bit misleading there though as Pool had a game in hand, which I believe was against Southampton. That's as close as Arsenal have gotten and it was over 3 months ago. Again I think it shows how good Liverpool have been, with Arsenal being comfortably best of the rest.
The 3 teams promoted in 2023 (Luton, Burnley, Sheffield United) got relegated in 2024. The 3 teams promoted in 2024 (Leicester, Ipswich, Southampton) are most likely going to be all relegated in 2025
I reckon they'll all be relegated by at least 10 points, none look like they can buy a win while the likes of Wolves have way more quality throughout the team.
