I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Me too.. not that I bought ticket for The Fray obviously.
But a show that introduced me to so much good music - The Shins, Bright Eyes, Guided by Voices, The Magnetic Fields etc.

And related to your post @PTH2009 , it was a shame that we missed Joshua Radins European tour this year. He played a few gigs across Europe but we missed out.

Yea they had some great tunes in them over the years
Joshua radin played Dublin* 8 times between 2008-2011, then just absolutely vanished, think he's played here 4 times since then. Real shame because him singing no envy no fears last verse acapella in the academy standing against the back wall lives absolutely rent free in my soul.
*1 was oxygen 2010 but it's close enough.

Automotion I was cynical about but they're good. I did like Makeshift Art Bar, per your rec, but I think Honesty beat them. Close though

I see Belters Only had the full top tier seating area completely curtained off in the 3Arena don't think I've ever seen that before.
yeah saw that myself. Don’t think that’s happened before except for one or two private events in the building. there previous 3 arena was a complete sell out so major decrease from 14k to 5k
Didn't they also do the RDS recently enough? they've played fairly consistently at festivals
nah no rds for them. Smaller shows at index and academy though
Ah I'd love that if it happens, and Barrowlands would be perfect. The venue that's top of my list. Was hoping to see the Manics there this year but TBB would do instead.
And do the rumoured dates mean they're nailed on for the Picnic? Arab Strap and Roddy also for Rankin's Wood.

Steve Mason did EP a few years ago - I was very impressed. Don't know the Beta Band's stuff. Somehow missed them, first time round. But if as good as his solo stuff, I can learn quickly!
My daughter was there. Her 4th Belters gig. I asked her this morning if 3Arena was packed. She said yes so obviously didn’t notice.

@mgkelly When you're done investigating The Beta Band head to The Aliens (basically TBB without Steve Mason). Their two albums 'Astronomy For Dogs' and 'Luna' are both better than anything the Beta Band put out in mine, and any TBB fans i know, opinion. Waiting on a new album but i don't expect it anytime soon.
Quite the family tree with the Betas; Steve Mason (who has also released as King Biscuit Time, Black Affair), The Aliens, Lone Pigeon (which is Gordon Anderson), and i guess Django Django, as their chief writer/producer, David McLean, is brother of Betas/Aliens keyboardist John McLean.

Also forget not John McLean's movies - Slow West a goodie and his newest Tornado due out later this year. What a talented lot. And I also love The Aliens (great live band) but they don't trump the Betas for me.
