With most if not all Supermarkets increasing prices almost weekly if you find any bargains in any of them please post here to help ease the burden on people.
Example

A good bit cheaper than branded products.
Aldi - Kevin the Carrot advent calendar €1.19.
Aldi, Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough Ice Cream €3.99 https://groceries.aldi.ie/en-GB/ALDIIE/p-ice-cream-cookie-dough-465-ben-jerrys/8711327373105 Part of the Aldi Savers offer.

This is a great idea for a thread. Can I suggest we select a product and we get the info of what that product costs in the following:
Tesco
Dunnes
Aldi
Lidl
SuperValu.
So for example the 950g of Fage (or equivalent) fat free low carb yogurt costs:
Tesco: €7.49 (€5.69 on club card)
How much does it cost in the rest?
the thread died a death in 2022 I doubt it’s going to survive the second time around but anything could happen I guess
Sure I can always try 🤣. Love a good bargain 😆
Looking at something a while ago.
Pepsi Max this am. 2L bottle.
Dunnes : €1.57
Tesco : 3 for €5 with clubcard.
SV : 2 for €5
All prices are + deposit of course.
Tesco €6 with clubcard
Dunnes €6
Will buy in Dunnes to reach €25 and so get my €5 off.
So almost free for me.
Here's an example of similar tasting cheese triangle products with a huge price difference and the cheaper 1 is even heavier in weight. That's how you save money. https://groceries.aldi.ie/en-GB/p-cheese-triangles-140g-8-pack-emporium/4088600282527

If you want to save further with 20% off so basically 79c for 16 !! Ppl who think aldi is cheap need to explore Dunnes more

Pity I don't have a Dunnes near me but that's a bigger saving compared to the branded stuff and even better than the Aldi ones. Most likely a lot of them made in the same factory.
The quidu.ie site is good for comparisons. Since you can sort by "value", so it shows the item which is cheapest per kilo, not just cheapest (I supermarket sites had this option). It also factors in clubcard prices or other discounts in that price per kilo. https://www.quidu.ie/search-product/search-results/?search_input=Fage It would be good if it recognized that many people shopping in Dunnes are using vouchers. I am usually using a 10 off 40, and sometimes a 5 off 25, so it would be good if you could tick a box and have it factor that in too. Dunnes price match a lot of the supermarkets, so when getting the 20 or 25% off it is really good. The third party companies doing these price comparisons should really factor it in too, you could have 2 or 3 listings for Dunnes, i.e. they might always top the lists if you are getting 25% off.

Any of you that don't use the app https://www.toogoodtogo.com/en-ie is a good way to save on your shopping but most places below a 4 rating should be avoided unless you know different.
A thread here on it https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058214672/too-good-to-go-food-app#latest
it's not a good way to save on your shopping.
it's a good way to pick up random crap the stores are going to bin
You obviously never used it so.
the app was a load of garbage for me, random bags of food if I was lucky, most of the time aldi or centra would cancel the order 2 hours before collection time which is 9:30 in my area.
I find that website to be useless. 9 times out of 10 it says there's an offer on something and i go in and it's not at that price, asking a manager once it was "maybe online only?" In tesco.
Thats the whole point of 2gud2go, maybe you've never used it?
It's good if you can cook whatever you get, but it's not great if you have an allergy or you get a box of just moldy oranges or something.
It's not just for supermarkets though, I have had stuff with 3-4 days date left from a variety of places from cafes to deli's and butchers. If you only look at the places with ratings of 4+ nearly all the time it is well worth it. I know some supermarkets use it to offload their crap but that usually reflects in their ratings. Look at the dedicated thread for it here and you will see what members get, more get good stuff than bad. https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058214672/too-good-to-go-food-app#latest
Anyway: Lidl has Pilão ground coffee imported from Brazil, which was €2.49 for 250g IIRC. I had some before and thought it was very good for the price, so got two more yesterday. Medium ground suitable for filter, French press etc., not espresso.
Is this in every Lidl store currently?
I know they do South American products once or twice a year, I'm wondering did I miss out?
I've seen it in a few stores long after the Brazil promotion. It wasn't with the regular coffee, it was where the Kimberly biscuits, Bassetts sweets etc were, a sort of miscellaneous section
I don't know if it was because they were left over from the promotion and no one is buying them or are they a regular thing now.
Bucket load (okay a box and a half), in the rathbeale road swords lidl, in that weird aisle
