If you see a job that needs doing..
Its a strange one, I have an AAX heifer here 12 months old out of a dairy cow. I would have thought she'd be polled but she's growing butts of horns.
The strange thing is they seem to be loose / movable. Never seen the like before, has anyone else??
there’s f all power generated when the sun isn’t shining, definitely not when it’s anyway overcast anyway

You would have to wonder what damage this will do to irish economy,
You could not see many new jobs in pharmaceutical companies next year
There was 8 kw today at dinner time but it went down very quick after that
Had two calves here last year out of a polled CH bull, one had no sign of any horns, the other had little butts of loose horns about half an inch long like you describe, it does happen sometimes apparently but they won’t grow afaik. Some people call them scurs I think.
There's 60 large solar panels gone on the roof of the village hall here. They must be growing something in there.
Will the old jobs even be there. The guys that think that they can doss from home might be very happy to drive to work
We had a few of those over the years. I think some sneaky breeding went on in Canada before they closed the herdbook to give AAs a bit of size. Usually come to nothing, unless if they are pedigree cattle. Do you know the sire of the bull?
Scur horns. Common enough in 'polled' cattle. She carries a horned gene but doesn't express it correctly.
I'm not sure what you think will happen, The tariffs will just be passed onto the cobsumer.
We got 16 panels in Jan-24, we’ve reduced our power spend down to 1/3 compared to previous year. Now, some of that is due to lower prices but panels seem a good investment.
No problems in recent storm so they are robust. 25 year warranty on the hardware.
I love how you post about things you’ve no experience of with such confidence. Tell me how many farmers drive to work or do they “doss from home”?
that’s good to hear, mine are only up a week, producing very little on overcast days, their sales line that you don’t need sun and it only needs to be bright is rubbish anyway
I look at it different. It’s raining here right now and producing 400w, that’s more than covering the background consumption in the house and a bit towards hot water. Is that rubbish ??
I think it’s really good considering it’s raining.
“Doss from home” is real old school thinking. Similar ideas think your not working if your not getting dirty and giving yourself a hernia lifting mad heavy stuff all day.
I have 18 x 455w panels, they were producing 500w 2 days ago when it was overcast, the guy that installed it was actually at the house at the time, he logged on to his system and showed me numerous other houses at the same time that were producing less than ours, I do think it’s bad to be honest but hopefully make up for it in the good weather
Takes me an awful long time to change position on things.
We need to have a proper military force on the island. The days of being neutral are surely behind us.
The EU needs to stand strong and let the US take its troops out of Europe and step up with its own forces, including Irish troops. Russia is greatly weakened so we would be starting on an equal capability anyway if we do it now. We can’t have a weak US president thinking he can bully us with the threat of withdrawing US troops.
Are you “working” today?????
Solar panels greatly depend on the orientation and the angle to the sun at various times of the year. Then shade from trees, etc. Houses and roofs were never thought of to be facing the optimum direction and have the best pitch of roof for panels.
our roof is 15 degrees off pure E-W
We split the panels 6 for morning sun and 10 for afternoon-evening because of that 15 degrees and it makes a huge difference. Brother has his all pure S facing. The difference in production isn’t as much as you’d think over a year. Our west facing panels produce great all afternoon and evening when S panels have dropped production. I have a S facing garage wall I could mount 4-6 on. Have a notion of it.
Well, most importantly I’m getting paid 👍
I'd say we'll put more up too, going by the way it's performing since they were swiitched on yesterday.
TAMs are giving 60% grant but they're so far behind now that our suppliers wanted nothing to do with them now.
Our shed is facing south
The High Court has ruled that the Attorney General can seek an order allowing secondary school teacher Enoch Burke's salary to be used to pay off the fines he owes for contempt of court. (RTE)
You must be delighted with our government so, as they piss away our neutrally day after day.
How many irish lives were saved, since the irish state was founded.
Now the donkeys of today, can't stay out of a school yard argument with out taking sides.
Let you send your child to fight Russia or isreal. My own will be told to stay at home. Let the politicians sacrifice their own sons and daughters first.
So the answer is no, you’re not working. It’s no wonder this country is €224 billion in debt and rising every day when people are getting paid to sit at home doing nothing, it’s beyond a joke, some people have no shame.
He could be on annual leave and entitled to be paid while not working.
He may also be salaried so payed whether he works 1 hour or 16 in the day with the expectation being he gets his work done not that he's putting in X hours.
Theirs also plenty being "payed" jobseekers and not all of them killing themselves to find a job.
Some of them too busy working to get a job.
Times change like it or not, I don’t love the idea but I think it’s probably the path forward. I didn’t say anything about forcing people to serve. The last thing any soldier wants is the soldier beside them not wanting to be there and not 100% engaged.
Oops
Public services are prime examples of performance when workers left to their own devices, no discipline, acountabilility, nor resposibilility. I don't know if employers have the technology to know if workers are at their desk, but some public service diggers are left running because of the monitors on the diggers and those diggers have two drivers and no one dare do any more work than the other driver.
I'd trust no one to work from home if I was an employer, we might get more bang for our taxes if public service was the same.
A friend came over to enquire for my health . and pointing to his public service badge on his overalls he said that I should work for this crowd and I wouldn't have my health wrecked, so even they are laughing at the taxpayers
