The king is dead, long live the king.
With the 2024 season done and dusted and lots of chatter now about drivers and how they will perform for the 2025 season, thought it would be no harm to start a 2025 season thread.
Go!
kinda good that it was all at one event but we haven’t seen all of the actual cars yet.
Im GMT+2 so it only started here at 10pm, and I only watched the first 3 reveals.
But wtf happened the RedBull reveal?

Just a bunch of skangers and chavs jumping up and down behind them.
Max was wishing a hole would open below him and swallow him whole.
No. Racing Bulls aka VCARB
Ah. Stupid name for the team continues to confuse. Agree, the racing bulls (sigh) livery is a banger.
That white flash. Not a looker. It's a no from me.
It's a mess.
It's also too dark a red I think.
Yeah you're right folks, I take back what I said about the white looking ok. The hole car looks crap - logos everywhere and yeah that red is too dark. The Schumacher era Ferrari's had their fair share of sponsors too but it looked much less cluttered - maybe because it has more of the white and a nicer shade of red.
Just under a week to now until testing kicks off too and the guessing games will begin.
You need to watch the preceding 5 mins.
The F1 circus is an apt name for the series now. Not all shadow and no substance , but all Lights and No Substance. Even Jack the presenter knew after 2 minutes it was going to the toilet. The mike krakk , my CRACK joke was a loose stool
From what I've seen online the feedback seems quite good about last night.
I liked the reveal show for what it was, anyone reckon if F1 are planning for it become an annual event be it in London or elsewhere?
Good lord, did they get Stevie Wonder to put the sponsors on that?
I’m a designer so this legit hurts my eyes, and I even wrote my thesis on sponsorship in F1.
the white and red don't mesh well together straight line at an angle on a very curvy piece of bodywork. Only works at one or two angles
Ferrari need to get Eddie Jordan in to rebrand Hewlett Packard to suit their cars the same way he rebranded DHL to suit his cars.
The VCARB looks fantastic on track
They have smashed that livery. Just hope they don't start peeling paint off to save weight.
More shiny, bright, vibrant colours would be good too across the board.
You can see some teams have embraced the colours more, Alpine and the Racing Bulls as an example. But Merc and Aston have brought in black to act as the livery overall.
Ya, but even the teams with colour are quite dark. The Aston is quite dark. The Ferrari the same. Give us some bling people.
Whoop! Whoop! Pre-season testing begins on Wednesday the 26th for three days.
Sky will be covering it I assume?
I know they've binned off Damon Hill, have they announced who's their lineup for 2025?
It'll be a Sky/F1TV team up as usual I presume. Aside from Will Buxton and James Hinchcliffe heading off to Indy I don't think any TV or radio broadcaster will have any major shake ups.
What happened with Buxton? Did he leave of his own accord?
Yep, FOX got the rights to Indy Car and needed a new presentation team. Offered a job to Will and he took it. All amicable.
Good for him. I know he got a bit of stick online, but I didn't mind him at all. The delivery of his lines could at times be a bit William Shatner'y, but seemed a decent skin.
Carlos Sainz new GPDA director, replacing Vettel
AM car
Testing week, finally! Kicks off nice and early this Wednesday. 😁
I can't wait to see the Alpine in natural light.
How many of the cars will keep all of the colour on their liveries, or will we see loads of carbon being exposed? Will Sky go full on mental if Lewis Hamilton is near the top of the timing screens? Will any rookie crash or be made look silly? Will any team obviously sandbag? F1 is nearly back…
