Starting a thread for 2025 gigs as they'll likely start rolling in.
I'll arbitrarily throw in Rob Beckett playing the Olympia on the 26th September 2025 which went on sale today.
Hopefully we get a Gillian Welch and David Rawlings gig here when they do Europe.
Huge hike, 98.50 for standing, I think it was around 69 for Golden circle in St Annes and I only paid 50 euro on the day.
Id like to see them indoors but a Tuesday in June is less than ideal.
Pricing out the common people
Same here, was at that show. Seating was very comfortable there compared to somewhere like the Olympia.
Yeah, priced us out. Seen them 5 or 6 times but that's too expensive so soon after the last one (they were class at St Anne's though, I know it'll be a great show for whoever goes)
Yep, yikes that's a price hike, are seats always cheaper than standing? I always stand there but don't go too often. Pulled the trigger on the standing, felt shafted at St Anne's not being in gold circle, but doubt setlist could be nearly as good this time...
I've already seated show in the Olympia coming up and dreading it for that reason.
20 years, seems like yesterday
Not gonna lie, I'm judging anyone who goes to this.
Paul simon is un retiring. Announced usa initiate venue tour. Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up doing a few nights in vicar st
Saw The Doors of the 21st Century there, back in the day. Was very enjoyable - Krieger/Dinsmore. But I'm not a 'sound' afficianado, so that didn't preoccupy me/I didn't notice!
They’re building a new Simmonscourt at the moment……….
Was at his RDS gig, with my wife. Supported by James Taylor, amongst others. Superb gig. Glad I went. Nice memory.
The Fray...sub-Snow Patrol sedation while Grey's Anatomy flickers in the background with the sound turned down. Noughties nightmares, let's not go back.
Never heard of these lads. Looked up in good ole Wikipedia. Got the following statement: "The Fray's mood has been described as austere, theatrical, cinematic, poignant, and ethereal; their lyrical content is based around introspection, with themes of yearning, regret, and angst." 👀
It is stated that music critics compare to Coldplay & Keane.
Finally, they are quoted as: "The band lists its influences as Counting Crows, Better Than Ezra, and U2."
Clearly, I'm not missing too much…
At the RDS? Are you confusung it with the stadium works?
I thought it was just the outdoor RDS stadium part, refurbishing the existing stands?
Didn't think they were doing the Simmonscourt building too. The biggest hall in there holds 6500 at the moment. Refurb-ing it into a more purpose-built concert venue would be great.
The main RDS building (where the Young Scientist and Metropolis were held) definitely wouldn't be getting rebuilt as it's a listed building.
I'm the first to complain about gig prices these days, but I'd sell my mum for a ticket to that
Which would be a shame, as she'd love to come with me if I got tickets 🤣
I took it as a pun on Paul Simon, Simmonscourt.
That's good news. That means he's OK. Long may he prosper. Would be great to see him here.
Also the lead singer isn't in the band anymore so lost any bit of interest I had
Were relationships in the band "fray-ed" or what?
Going to he cheeky here and ask if you wouldn't mind sharing a link. I'm waiting on the MCD presale but if there is a presale link on the go now that would be awesome. No worries if not though
So you wouldn't bother going to see Nirvana with Post Malone?
Credit to Adrian...
All sorted - thanks!
Nope, zero interest in that
I've seen the rumours that it's actually a possibility that "Nirvana" would do a tour in 2026, having seen them do that LA benefit gig and that SNL 50, not one signer they got could actually do justice to the songs,
Seems very like Oasis Noel gets a divorce band gets back together and Dave now has those issues and it's let's get Nirvana back together, tickets be gold dust anyway
I heard Slane 😋
For E's and Wizz ?
