Hoping a New Thread may fix the posting issues.
Apologies, I got that one wrong.
We have an excellent recent record against them there so there's that. Today and Wednesday last were worrying though - that calmness in our play seems to have disappeared. Midfield looks very tired and Grav has been poor in those two matches, possibly because teams are more aware of his influence on our general play. Watkins tend to score against us too.
He doesn't miss the Villa game needs 10 bookings now
Don’t agree with you in this instance. The same lack of control in the 2nd half was evident vs Bournemouth , Everton and Today . It’s more a pattern of players getting tired I feel rather than trying to be cute tactically. Teams are also coming at us much more directly having a go as opposed to sitting back absorbing pressure like much of 1st half of season.
Important we won as We are entering the precarious part of this brutal 5 game run now where tiredness and rotation play a part in very difficult away games to Villa and City and then somehow need to try win 3 days later vs Newcastle.
I don’t hold much hope of West Ham getting anything away at Arsenal so we need to win Wednesday and hopefully we will be 10 points clear.
He has 5 in the premier league https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/yellow_card
Oh I definitely agree that Liverpool are not controlling proceedings like they should be. And I actually pointed out earlier in this thread that teams are being a bit more adventurous against them, and pressing them higher up the field, with more numbers. It's really disruption how they try and build up from the back, it's taking Gravenberch out of it.
But I think today, Slot did try to pull a fast one in that 2nd half. I think he took a chance that at 2 nil, Wolves may not be up for it after the break.
Today was his 5th PL yellow card. I didn't realise it reset after 19 games.
Who got MOTM today?
Vvd
It's absolutely shite the way our schedule has gone. I just can't see us winning the next 3 games, I'd snap the hand off you for 7 points. At least City will have played In Madrid mid week as well. We have to rotate, lads are tired and it's a big risk of injury. I wouldn't play Grav against Villa, Endo can do a job. Will we have Gakpp back for the city game?
It's at the stage where you'd wonder would Slot be better off ceding the PL title to Arsenal by playing the kids, and then giving the CL last 16 tie in a few weeks time absolutely everything they have.
It seems like these 5 PL games in 15 days is the toughest task in football history. 4 points from 2 of those fixtures, just 3 remaining. Even if Liverpool win the next 3 you'd have to worry about possible deaths in the camp from fatigue.
Mod Edit: Warned for trolling
NEVER GIVE UP
The way we're playing, yeah you'd absolutely take 7 points
And hope Forest get a result at home v Arsenal
That made me laugh. First time today.
Thank you
Villa were looking to get Wednesday game moved as they don't want to play it and don't understand why it was brought forward and gives them a tight schedule like Liverpool have with 5 games in 15 days
Is absolutely bite your hand off for 7 right now...
Arsenal played poorly and won yesterday does that make them champions too 😜
Endo got the public vote, for his 19mins, lol.
I'm not surprised.
Two big relief challenges and won the fouls when we were under pressure
Now that would be delicious!! My childhood was traumatised by that cruel night, still can’t forget it!! 😄
shows how terrible everyone else was probably Alison only player that did well
Quansah Bradley and endorsed all did well when they came on
Gravenberg and Mcallister had their worst games in along time
Also our fullbacks offer nothing
gone are the days when they were assists monsters
Should not get a warning for that, was very funny.
This thread has to have the most pessimistic bunch of fans ever. Constantly worried or feeling the pressure of playing before or after (either seems to cause pressure) a chasing team.
Man City coming for us based on absolutely nothing, worried players will be tired if they play too much but will be rusty if they don't play enough. Wanting to sell players after a few bad games, if Salah doesn't score he's automatically had a stinker etc..
We're 7points up enjoy it
My god for a big strong man, nunez is brutal to win and hold up ball
I can imagine if Chiesa was brought on and struggled as the whole team did at the end it would have been an indictment on his ability. He will need to play with the best we have to rediscover his form, and even then it may not come. But playing him with the kids and then only in times when we do not dominate will not allow him to rediscover what he had.
Quoted these 2 together as they relate in my head to the same situation 🙂
Nope… Arsenal did it
Trent's passing was off yesterday, he also won more tackles than anyone else on the pitch for either team. I don't think he was brilliant but he was far from the problem. Feels like when he attacks well it's "he should be defending" and now when he defends well it's "why isn't he creating chances?"
There is no place for any humour, this is serious business 🙄
The constant pessimism has been a thing since boards has been around, some fans would rather always be dour because then at least if the team loses they can feel vindicated and get in a few "I told you so"s.
I guarantee even if we win the league it'll be less than a week before some are saying "Yeah but we're not gonna win it again next year" It's not a Liverpool thing either you see it from every group.
Well that’s one way of looking at it, the way most people will look at it.
I’ll tell you what I think: this is the same squad that had a massive wobble in late March last year, busting out of the title race and getting dumped out of Europe across a rotten couple of weeks. Now don’t get me wrong - it’s all good from my perspective. These few years are as good a time to be a Liverpool fan in 40+ years. I expected nothing this season and it’s been a great ride. But it seems very clear to me - the squad that wobbled their way out of a title race a little under a year ago are in the midst of a full on wobble right now. It’s been a rotten week, and the next two fixtures are beyond tricky. If you’re prone to panicking about these things, now is the moment to hit the code Red alarm. 0 points from the next two games is absolutely on the table here…
We've won 13 points from the last 15 available. Arsenal need to gain 7 points on us to have a chance of winning. 10 games ago the gap between us was only 4 points. We're supposedly in crisis while extending our lead. still 7 points 😅
We've not played great as of late but come on, "in the midst of a full on wobble"?
