Seems to be some confusion with that advert. Its says 2009 in the description, but in the photos its got a 2012 reg. Either way he's well into dreamer territory. In fact he's probably asking twice what its worth…and don't get me started on the aftermarket painted brake calipers (looks soo gauche)
Heres a facelift 2015 model for 20k.

Its not a 12 reg,the reg on it is a dealers reg 12-C-0000.
It's a 2009 R171 SLK.
Also, the example in the link is not a facelift model,it's an 2015 R172,the face lift R172 came out the following year and they were discontinued after that.
Not trying to be smart! Just pointing it out.
When I said 'face lift', I meant a newer generation ie. R172 as opposed to R171.
There may indeed have been a mild facelift of the R172 during its lifetime and thanks for pointing that out.

Ah right, sorry I got ya now.
If I had bought that 2007 R171 for €6k when I test drove it 5 years ago it would have nearly doubled in value,i certainly think i could sell it for €10k. I think that's mental and can't think of many fairly common cars that would be the case with.
Plenty of relatively common stuff can go up amazingly in value (eventually)....if the motoring stars align.
But thats a discussion for a different thread. This thread is dedicated to laughing at and ridiculing the dreamers 😂
Has dealer got Christmas decorations up early or has that car been for sale for a long time

Utterly speechless
Totally not a scam, komrad🙄
As Jeremey Clarkson says about people who do this:
"They take a perfectly ordinary car and ruin it"
MITSUBISHI LANCER X for sale in Co. Dublin for €7,300 on DoneDeal
At least tint the back windows to go along with the theme.
You just know that baby seat is hiding something nasty!
Its a spunk mobile.... 100% winner of dreamer of the year. Its only 4th Jan
They're cheap as chips in the UK, good ones 2-4k, but VRT is horrendous on em. That asking price means the total price is closer to 20k, lol 😂
Hoping someone doesn't know that.
Somebody who wants that spec and doesn't want to wait 6 months or whatever....for delivery of their own one.
Might suit a sole trader/business owner who can’t avail of the SEAI grant or whatever. Still way overpriced tho.
Underpowered petrol with no NCT and not even hoovered inside.
I'm not defending the guy but it seems the NCT is booked for Tuesday the 18th. Not the worst offender if it comes with a fresh NCT.
Add states NCT is on the 18th of Feb. So presumably being sold with a new NCT
As much as I love Alfa Romeo, 5k for that car is way too much.
I owned the previous iteration (156) with that same 1.8 T-spark engine. Its 140bhp, and whatever the T-spark trickery involves they are certainly not underpowered at all. They are drop dead gorgeous (particularly in estate form) and that maroon is maybe the best colour. These are most likely future classics. €5k is probably about the right money.
Just for comparison Deane Auto's (famous on the classics thread) sold an estate of similar vintage and spec last year for very strong money, north of €10k iirc.
Bumper trim hanging off and the whole car is manky! What a terrible ad for a beautiful looking car.
I don't think the 1.8MPI in the 159 is a T-spark, it's an Opel engine.
I don't doubt that a well maintained 159 with the right engine will get good money, especially an SW, but this engine is really the least desirable.
This.
Twin spark was much better. Had 156 TI sportwagon and still regret I sold it. Well looked after 1.8TS loved to be revved with great sound.
loved to be revved with great sound.
Reminds me of my N/A Jap engines. VTEC, MIVEC and 20valve VVT. I miss those cars.

Are you looking for a project car to keep you busy this summer? How about this Skyline R32 GTS for the low, low price of €16,950?
What do you think skylines go for? Honestly? A vintage manual skyline, it's priced about right, for the way things are right now with cars.
I jumped the gun when I looked at the damaged aircon vents and thought that didn't bode well for the mechanical condition of a non-turbo model Skyline. I should have accounted for how confused a Nissan dealer would be if someone showed up and asked for replacement parts for something that's not a Qashqai. :o
Ah look, I'm never here for a fight but it's worth that, going on what other yokes are selling for. I just saw an is200 sell for 12k, I'd rather an n/a skyline.
