Watched that video expecting to see something conclusive. Look this happens all the time even when trying to be careful. As someone said tight spaces are the real problem. I know people have dinged me without malice (Seen it loads of times on my sentry)and ive done the same over the years by accident or small kids opening doors. Garda involvement is almost laughable in these cases. I get it, it's annoying but id say move on - its a car after all.
Honestly it barely makes contact in the first video, surprised it even left much of a mark. The guy clearly went out of his way to try and avoid dinging your car in what is clearly a tight space.
I certainly wouldn't feel right wasting Gardaí time on this and getting the poor sod to fork over the cash to make such a minor repair. Whatever you're entitled too, it just doesn't sit right. Especially if it's another parent at your kids school.
Door dings happen, if you're not comfortable with that as a possibility then maybe don't leave the house.

You're getting calls for your RWD because it has a better, albeit smaller, battery.

Had the Y up on DD. Sold for 31.4k with the help of Boardsie 😉 Really like the Y but was coming up towards the end of general warranty and have never held a car longer than 2 years so was time to change. Only 600km in on the Seal and really like it too. Kids are moaning about Netflix and YT being missing but that can be sorted. No option to preheat on the Seal for DC charging which will be a pain in the ass when the time comes and I need it and the nav is not as good. That said I'll sacrifice it for Waze going via Android Auto. Definitely a nicer drive than the Y which to be fair is not comparing apples to apples but I've never driven a 3.

Launch Edition has 458bhp while the standard LR will have 400bhp. So I guess the Acceleration Boost accounts for 58bhp. Should mean the MYP to be well into the 500+ bhp segment.

It's one of the best things about driving an EV. Hard to go back to 'normal' now. Even swapping over to ICE rental cars is a PITA now.

There is nothing concrete and any views at this stage are speculative. Some markets (Australia, China), which are served from Tesla Shanghai, do have have RWD variants available to order but these are ALL First Edition high spec. Model Y for Ireland is served from their German giga factory and there are no other variants from that factory, other than the First edition LR AWD model, even in their home market. Clearly they are in ramp up mode switching production to new Model Y and are prioritising the higher priced higher spec (makes sense) until such time as production can meet demand (and also older model inventory sold - expect some price reductions?) . Patience is a virtue!

I think it will be, yes. Tesla cant afford to up their prices. Too much competition now in that segment for that level of quality etc. For example, BYD Atto, XPeng G6 etc
With new model i suspect there will not be the need for Tesla to incentivise with the 0.99% …there will be enough pent up demand at least initially
The current RWD model is 48k for white, and 49.4K or 50.8K for an interesting colour (not including referral bonus/credit).
I think the price will hold but the finance will go up, as JOL1 reckons. Lots of Y buyers holding 'til later in the year.
On the flip side I think we'll see some good discounting on the current model in the run-up to the end of the year.
yeah I was thinking the same. With the plummet in sales in Europe, the Musk factor, and the competition, I can’t seem them upping prices and interest rates. Just gotta be patient I guess
