Hopefully this comes to Ireland. What a great looking car. Priced from €35,000 to €45,000 with at least 3 different spec levels and it could do well.
I can go back and check my records, but my Seat Leon 1.5TSI is normally 120 - 150 euros a service for Oil Filter and check-up in the main dealer.(Checked and it was 180 euro early Jan 2024), so not too far off.
I have had it for 5 years now, and not had much else to do during services to be fair.
Still on original Brake pads etc, have done the tyres once myself, but that not normally a std. service expense
I've done the Pollen filter myself, but that's needed only every 2 years.
Finance rates? PCP/HP
Think it's 4.9%
Just drove through Deansgrange on the way home, and didn’t realise they had already fully branded one of the BYD showrooms as Xpeng.
I was surprised at how quickly BYD caught on, especially considering how well established VW, etc. were in the locality, these could do pretty well.
They ripped off Mazda design.
lol. No they did not.
To me it has the silhouette of a new Mazda 3, just a bit horizontally stretched to facilitate the electric gubbins.
It does have Model Y and CX30 vibes off it….
The rear end could be lifted off a Jag F-Pace.
Think that is what will rule me out trading the model 3 for this. Even if the trade in isn't awful I doubt the figures will make sense. The price drop really did a number on me, ha.
The bright interior is definitely preferable over the dark, and yeah, very obvious Model Y cues there - probably not surprising given it was the world's best seller car.
3K dealer delivery cost is extreme alright.
Is anyone here keeping an eye on the Onvo L60 as an alternative to the Xpeng G6?
Not sure on the release and price comparison yet, but March is mentioned for UK.
I just posted it across in the Onvo thread.
for sure - the frontend model Y update looks identical to this. Tesla would’ve seen a G6 before they did their refresh too, and still made it almost identical to this
They all would have seen the Kona front end and still made it identical to that too. It’s the modern design path or at least the path of preference at the moment.
totally agree - but the awkward Y design was at least unique - it’s no longer unique at all, it’s just another potato
I think wind tunnels dictate the shape more than designers..the best shape will be replicated by all
aerodynamics yes - but mostly safety reg’s, which dictate a lot of specific placements of panels, lights, windows and dimensions
All the demo cars being registered.
Didn't the EU change rules a few years ago to allow you to get your car serviced where you wanted and still have an effective warranty? Or did I dream that up? I believe they called it the "right to repair" and "block exemption regulation" laws
Completely correct. You can service your car anywhere using OEM or similar quality parts by a trained technician.
The problem here is HV trained technician, XPeng trained Technician and keeping paperwork that will satisfy warranty.
Easier in an ICE to be honest.
How do you become an HV trained technician? Other than "don't touch the yoke while the power is connected" you wouldn't think there's much training to be done.
I would suspect most qualified mechanics will have some form of upgrade course, re-skill course etc
Saw an advert for this yesterday before the 6N match. It looks very sleek in fairness
yikes its 3K
Where are you reading this?
Just under €45k on the road price. I posted the actual OTR price on 1st Feb up above, Post No.53.
All the "influencers" are promoting the €42 price but that's just the XPeng RRP excluding dealer charges. They do the same with BYD. Constantly talk about the €44k BYD when its €46k on the road. MSL add their own fee which in fairness includes service and replacement tyres within 2 years I think if required.
a lot of the dealer networks seem to be moving to an agency model, whereby the cars and prices are set by the manufacturer, and the dealer simply adds a flat delivery fee to pass the car from the manufacturer to the customer.
The main difference is that in the old model the dealers were purchasing the cars from the manufacturer and then reselling them to the customer
Except in the case of Tesla and Polestar the manufacturers don't have places in the country where they can sell cars so they rely on an existing dealer network to do that for them
It's annoying but the alternative is that we don't get the same choice
There is no way, I would pay 3000 delivery . Would be interested in a second hand one in 12 months plus. I would put these in the same segment as BYD , from my POV they offer excellent value , and build quality, and well spec-ed, so yes, I am very interested. I currently drive an Ioniq 5, and need a big boot, the Ioniq has a large boot, but the G6 is slightly larger 5 and better spec-ed
However for those who are new to EVS, I feel sure some buyers (not me) will opt for VW, Hyundai, telsa, be that second hand or used (these is due to familiarity to a known brand, rather than what is under the hood)
My question is have BYD depreciated more per cent wise than
VW, Hyundai, telsa etc
and if so, could the same be said for Xpeng, and therefore represent a good second hand buy
The G6, our premium electric SUV, will start from €44,300 (includes 2 year service plan & delivery charges), offering an exceptional combination of luxury, advanced technology, and outstanding range.
that’s from an email I got from them, so delivery isn’t €3k
€2,300 for delivery, service and “possible” tyres? Seems like different sales staff are giving different figures.
