Illegal? Are you sure about that, it seems odd.
I don't think dealers are in the market of marking cars up here? I haven't seen it myself. Either the dealer has options added on or have added on their own additions such as paint protection, GAP insurance or even charging for the floor mats. Those aren't actually free, but you'd have to be an absolute shyster of a dealer to charge for them.
Dealers are well known for adding a rake of options to their stock cars.
Supply and demand might increase the price.
Most independent retail can charge what the market will tolerate. This is true for all retail not just the car market.
I have them in matte carbon. Much better than the piano black finish.
they can’t increase the price on new cars - zero mileage cars with no previous owners - but e.g last year we saw a few independent garages buying base model white model 3 highlands and listing them for €42k, as they’re technically now second hand
I sold my ID3 privately, literally just waved it away from my drive there now🥲 I got a 221 KV6 GT 15k kms for 36k 0% finance. picking up Friday hopefully!!
Thats a savage deal for a GT. Are you sure it’s not just a GT-Line ?
I was thinking of the matte black as a safe choice, I’m not sure how the carbon look would work with the GTX interior. Are they a good fit around the existing finish? In photos they look good but how have you found them.
Matte black is safe. I was worried the carbon would look tacky but it goes well as the interior of the Pro is black and grey anyway. Fit is good and easy to install. The only complaints, which are minor, is that they are just thick enough that you notice the difference when using the window control and that the edges of them could be smoother. Would I buy / use them again? Definitely.
Edit: Get the centre console one too to complete the look.
What did you get for the ID.3?
More or less than €16k (if you dont want to give exact figures).
Advertised 15.5 took 14.5. Had a definite offer of 12 from a dealer. Happy as can be expected but don't think I could have gotten much more as a private seller with my mileage
how much difference would the heat pump make to winter motorway range in the GTX?
I see EV-database tested it as 330km winter motorway (-10c, 110kmph), but it doesn’t say if that’s with or without the pump.
The GTX feels like great value for €/km of range, if you don’t want the m3 LR RWD
For this country, very little difference if you pre-heat the cabin before you leave.
If it was just a few hundred it might be worth it, but its €1200, or something like that, so not worth it.
Something else to go wrong too when it’s out of warranty.
If I remember correctly, the heat pump is best suited for mild temps like 5-7°C or something? I'm probably not remembering correctly, but whatever conditions it was wasn't as good as other manufacturers. Plus, the difference in efficiency wasn't massive and would take something like a decade to break even for the €1,200 it would cost you.
saw a GTX Performance Plus in person this morning, it was being collected later day for a customer, very impressed, lovely red stitching inside, it was in moonstone grey, some nice exterior additions to basic ID3.
Dealer said 12 to 16 weeks for delivery.
Got a straight sale price, with no extras included and waiting for a price on my own i3.
Hard to beat for the price if you like a performance car. Range will be fantastic too when you want it to be.
Is it a good bit better inside than the original ID3? I know it has been refreshed and meant to be a big improvement, infotainment apparently good now too. With those improved, plus performance and range, it's a very complete package now.
GTX performance plus, has upgraded seats, harmon kardon sound system, reversing camera, and a no cost choice of silver of black alloys, and all paint choices are no cost except red, some other bits also, herself as a an ID4 Pro Plus, ID3 has the same v4 software, and bigger screen, it seems to be a massive improvement.
Going by the Volkswagen brochure you got €4 discount
Read through the last few pages someone else approached a dealer and was going to charge them a couple of grand over the price listed in that. And some users on here said that is the recommended price and dealers can charge more if they like.
as discussed a few days ago, ‘dealer markup’ on new cars isn’t legal in Europe, thankfully - outside of the usual delivery:destination charge
this stuff with dealers and prices drives me mad. A transparent approach would be much better.
12-16 weeks sounds about right. Mine is finally on the boat! Ordered in Oct.
ID3 has the same v4 software
I think it’s v5 they have now.
Yes my GTX is running software v5
glad to hear it’s on the way, do you know what week it went into production? ours was a week 4 build.
I ordered Jan 23rd and my build week is week 11.
I think the process is
Hand over to production
Body shop
Paint shop
Assembly
Delivery
I had a handover to production a few days before christmas and it sat in that state for a long while. I was told there was a parts delay, on the dash I think. Maybe because it has HUD
It went to paint shop last week of Jan. Spent a week there.
Its on the boat now. Should be at customs next week and hopefully delivery the week after.
Is this GTX better than a Cupra Born e-Boost for 34K?
The eboost is a nice spec car for the money, only reason to go for the GTX is if you specifically want the power and bigger battery.
the equivalent Cupra is the VZ
