thanks will consider 'concrete wall panels' , i assume they would be totally fine in a red warning wind storm? they look like they would do the job…
Room Concrete have been making them a while. Hear they are very competitive as well
I have them and the shed is still standing anyway, €50/m2 for 4 inch, €60/m2 for 6 inch and you fit them yourself. You can put them on the inner face of the RSJ, the middle of the webs or the outer face of the RSJ, I put them on the outside in case I ever want to extend the shed and move them.
how do you position them if there going into the inner web.
I’d say you’d have to allow for it obviously fit them before any timber and iron is fitted, and maybe don’t fix on the angle irons on one side until they’re fitted, best say it to whoever is doing the shed because they will all have their own ideas. I think it’s just easier to fit them to either the inside or outside (definitely if the slats are near the pillars on the inside) for this reason. If they’re on the outside you can just bolt on 4” angle irons, drop each one 15mm and you get a nice fall on the panels, there’s a flashing that comes down inside the iron and over the top of the panels, no / little water remains on the top of the flashing with the fall on the panels
What would you use to seal between the cencrete panel gaps?
Nothing, they don’t need to be sealed
wrong thread
You don't need to seal them, we have them used for a silage slab wall and I mixed up sand and cement 2:1 and pointed the joints between the panels (flush with the panels and finished with a paint brush like pointing a stone wall) and I will admit it does give them a nice finish & they look well.
I was involved in using them on a building for a client & I got the contractor to do the same and the client was impressed too.
Would you have any pictures of the way you fixed the panels on the outside.
I actually don’t surprisingly enough, I’ll get a few this evening if it’s bright but it’s similar to the attached anyway, the brackets are just tightened to the inside of the RSJ
Thanks much appreciated
Inside and outside
Anyone utilise the "nutrient Importation storage scheme grant"? I'd I read it write (and it makes sense) it covers 70% of tank election costs?
Key question for me is can you apply for a standard TAMS grant (40% for me as not young farmer) to finish the shed at the same or later time?
Would you have details on how the corners of the shed worked with the precast slabs. They are getting more cost effective in the current climate when you factor in time and labour
The importation scheme grant doesn’t apply to slatted tanks. Only overground tanks, lagoons and manure pits.
just welded a flat piece to the RSJ’s to clamp the panel going across the tank, the panel going along the tank just ran to the edge of the RSJ. It took about an hour to put up the walls and clamp them. Serious job, no waiting for someone to come and shutter walls, they’re cheaper than shuttering walls and can be easily moved if I ever want to extend the shed or change anything. By the way I’m not a sales rep for Croom Concrete 😂
what did u use to lift them into place? Would a tractor loader be fit to lift them?
I used a teleporter, a 5 foot high panel for a 16 foot bay weighs about 1.8T, (4 inch panel)
tis grand to be looking at a new shed…… gives me itchy paws again (hope the missus doesn’t read this!!)
this arrived Wednesday. 40x80x14 to eve. A roof. Just have to find time to clear the site now.
the itch might wear off very quickly when you start pricing stuff
Hi Ink 123. In that first picture will the rain run down inside the slab.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
that photo was taken before the flashing was put on
is it a workshop? What sort of money?
no to keep calved cows in and straw. €24k erected.
I wouldn’t think it too bad at that. I know you’ll probably spend another 20 on concrete, gates etc but you’ll have it for life.
I was going to buy A roof 47x30x14 steel only €3700.anyone got price on rsj/ per foot we have made steel work ourselves in the past.
Have you priced up the concrete and finishing ?
Is sheeting included at that price ?
