From where to Letterkenny?
I done Dublin to Letterkenny in December. 246km and averaged 15.8 kWh/100km to give you an idea on efficiency. That used 53% of the battery.
There are plenty of chargers on route but you shouldn’t need any. The Tesla screen displayed all chargers on the route and will also precondition.
If in Letterkenny, the erigol hotel has chargers. Tap and pay. 30c per kWh which is great for public charging. You’ll get 11kw AC there so if nearby you can charger while doing what you have to do and have more than enough to get home.
Yeh i thought that aswell, but it didnt work for Applegreen in Rathcoole, the car told me to stop off there, 2 were in use and 2 were out of service. Im travelling from Wicklow.. its about 600km round trip so ill definitely need to stop somewhere.
The M3 should be more efficient than my trip too. That was in a MY LR.
You’ll get there easily but one thing to remember and a lot of people forget about is the battery use when parked up if using sentry mode cameras.
Try charge while you’re there and you won’t even have to think about it.
You should still be able to get there without a stop and then charge in Letterkenny. There are a good few chargers there including DC (although I think they're 50kW). Down the road in Ballybofey there's a 180kW charger.
If the Tesla system is not marking unavailable chargers, check the ESB app. Two of the stations there are ESB.
Edit: the one in Circle K is 100kW.
Go via Dungannon Tesla SuC, only add minutes to the journey and you won't experience faulty chargers or queuing time, your car will precondition when you put it in as your destination so you'll be in and out in 15m.
You now have access to the full Tesla SuC network, use it!!!
Probably best to hit that on the way back. It's only just over 200km from Wicklow, so SoC would probably be a bit high for getting the best out of the charge curve.
Cheers for that… stupid question, but do i need to do anything else in the app to access Tesla SUC?
Latest update tonight adds preconditioning for 3rd party chargers too.
"Your vehicle now supports preconditioning for additional third-party fast chargers, even if they aren’t listed on the charger list. Simply set a fast charger as your destination, and battery preconditioning will start automatically when needed to optimize charging performance."
Don't even need the App. The charger and the car communicate. As long as you have a valid card associated with your Tesla account you are good to go.
as Josip said, just reverse, take the cable off the charger holster, there's a wee button on the charger plug to open your charge port even, just plug it in and you're done. nothing to do via the car or any app
Plenty of options for charging on the way to and from Letterkenny and in Letterkenny itself.
On M1 nothbound, there is Ionity City North, Tesla Superchargers Catelebellingham. Then you can cut accross the back roads to Carrickmacross and up to Mondaghan Town on the N2, ESB chargers on the otskirts of Monaghan town on the n2 on the road out to Emmyvale.
Other option is to stay on M1 and head towards Dungannon when you hit the North and use the Super Chargers there.
In Letterkenny, theres ESB 100Kw charers in Tobins Service Station near the shopping centre, a 50kw charger in Justice Walsh carpark just off main street, amother fast charger in Dillons Hotel, ESB 22kw chargers at the theatre, just walsh car park, AC chargers at the Radisson Hotel, Dillons Hotel, Errigal Hotel and cinemas.
On way down south same choices but Castlebellingham Southbound instead of Nothbound.
Got a call today, will be collecting next week! 😁
I still haven't got my registration number or finance agreement and due to collect tomorrow lunch time. Is this normal? Cheers
No it's not. Contact Tesla in the app.
They won't let you take the car unless the finance has been approved
fair play, I’m still waiting on the call 🤞
When did you order?
No, and suffice it to say you likely won't be collecting tomorrow.
Reg number is given the day before collection, but finance agreement is usually a week or more before.
5th November
I'd say that you didn't order a white sr like me then?
No I ordered a RWD in grey
Oh I thought you were going to say something more unusual - can't be far away I imagine? 🤔
regardless of other comments, there are many who have only received the registration on the date of collection and also the finance papers to sign. it can be last minute. By all means follow up with Tesla.it is usual that Finance is only provisionally approved until the very end when paperwork begins to be exchanged.
Fingers crossed. 🤞 enjoy the car
Indeed, got them both about an hour ago, with a follow up mail to urgently complete the paperwork! Thanks.

Has anyone who had a January Delivery in their app have their expected delivery change to "We'll notify you when it's time to continue with your pre-delivery tasks". Ordered standard white RWD, black interior Jan 16th. Still hoping car will arrive before end of March so I can avail of 0.99%
I though you had until end of March to avail of that rate?
Ordered pre-configured M3 RWD QS in mid-Jan. VIN 407. I’ve been using the python script, and see that the ETA to delivery centre changed last night:
Changed value at 'Order 0.details.tasks.finalPayment.data.etaToDeliveryCenter': 2025-01-30T00:00:00 -> 2025-02-06T00:00:00
And Vehicle odometer changed this morning.
Changed value at 'Order 0.details.tasks.registration.orderDetails.vehicleOdometer': 6.324702080000001 -> 7.34116096
My Delivery Window remains at: 30 January - 14 February, and I haven’t been asked to schedule delivery appointment or for final cash payment.
From these chats, I suspect it arrived on the Malacca Highway into Dublin last night.. hopefully. Does anyone recall how long theirs took from arriving into Dublin Port, to collection?
My bad, above should have read end of March to avail of 0.99 once order placed before Jan 23rd.
I mentioned this before here. As long as you have started the process and have been approved by Finance Ireland, it doesn't matter if the car delivery comes after the PCP promotion. U will be locked into the cheaper rate.
I was in the same boat back in Dec, when the rate was due to be pulled on the 31st Dec. I rang up and confirmed the above.
